Scale shapes make playing easier. Would you like more explanation about how to know which ones to use when?

Sure thing! It took years of playing for me to see these patterns. Happy to share! Thanks for watching.

I am not a fiddle player, but if I wanted to start this channel would be on the top. I'm playing mouth harmonica. And because of this instrument is quite specific, I usually try to learn how the other instruments sound, and it helps me. After watching such videos as yours I want to rush to the musical instruments site to order myself a fiddle. Thanks for these charming videos!

For me, it would be extremely helpful if the violin fingerboard was pointed at the camera. I'm a very visual learner and seeing the placement of your fingers on the strings would be a huge aid to understanding. The idea of moveable shapes, though, is excellent!

Do you mean like a top-down view? I have faced both ways and the consensus is that this angle is easier to see the fingers from. Soon I will have two angles, and one of them will be from above. Thanks for watching and taking the time to make helpful comments. I'm always learning!

@@FiddleGeeks No, I meant just a front view. But a second camera view from the top will be awesome! Thank you!

@@garyarrington9071 Cool, I can do that. I'll play twice with different angles while I'm working on getting a top view.
