Nice videi. Im trying to get a J10 or j20.. but theyre so hard to find in virginia.
I didnt realize that lower panel is just basically floating. The j10 im looking at the bed is rusted out badly.. holes all over the bed itself.. but the outer panels are just orange. Im sure there is rot inaide though. But when i closed the drivers doir. This same panel you worked on. On thay side was just wobbling in the air.. So i guess theyre just floating with pinch welds ?
The frame is rusted very badly on this j10 in the back as well.. most fsj rust in the last 1-2 feet of the frame badly anyway. But i dunno. It runs drives.. but needs new tires. Floorboards. The cab is overall in great sjape.
And frame front to mid/back is in great shape. Guy has no title though... but i can get the Jeep by just trading a 44 henry lever action.. basically spend 0$ for the Jeep.
Ill just have to do the vermont loophole to title it in virginia. Well hopefully that works. Taxes will be high though.. 300$ or so.
And then i gatta cut out and weld a new rear frame in. So i dunno is it worth it or not ?
The bed when you grab it on the corner by the tailgate. It actually wobbles. So i guess it needs tones of work to get that sound too.
Pain.. its either get one like this. Or spend 6 to 9000$ for one with similar rust but not as bad yet.. its annoyingly frustrating.
I know in my mind i shouldnt get this.. no title... frame rot to where its paper thin in the last 2 feet of the frame.. and bad bed rot. Inside thr bed anyway not outside. But its the color i want.. a baby blue and white outside and baby blue interior thats 100% there.. no missing parts... im not a fan at all of the sand color interiors.
I dunno what do you think ? Get it ? Patch the frame rot.. until i can find a better frame ( at least rear frame) to transfer over. And then try to get a title.. or keep looking ?.
Honestly.. the frame falling off in chunks and going from over 1.8th thick to paper.. doesnt scare me. Normally id cut it out and weld in fresh steel.. but i think its too far gone for that and just needs steel welded overtop for the time being to strengthen it. While i source a clean frame for the rear anyway.
I actually like that this Jeep is whole.. the color i want.. and runs.. I cant decide whats worse.. rotten rear frame. And bed. But complete interior and runnung drive train.
Or missing most of its interior.. good frame. But still have bed rot.. and doesnt run...

Thank you for watching and in my own opinion unless you had a good starter vehicle that was solid I would say buy it as a parts car and part it out after you would get yours built but for the time and money it would be better to find a more solid truck for say 3 or 5000 just to have it solid. Ours wasnt too bad and basically got it for scrap price but the bed and cab floors were the worst and you basically can't find too much sheet metal for these trucks and have to make it from scrap and body filler. Or look for a good vehicle down south a little bit that has very little rust. But that's what I would recommend to be your easiest route but I hope the best of luck to your search if you have questions feel free to ask and if you get one keep me updated on what you get!!
