I did not put it on as we in Arizona don't deal with a whole let of moisture in the air here. It's doesn't seem to effect anything an works perfectly fine with no issues.
No check engine lights at all. Everything is good so far. I did hear that if you don't plug the recirculation hoke it will though a code. Mine is plugged with no issues.

Yes, you do have to plug the recirculation hole.
No problems though. It's been a lot of fun to make the noises.
