I was on the ground between pylons 5 and 6. It sounded like a car crash. If i never take any more photos of a mid-air, it will be too soon. I was so happy when both aircraft pulled up and were still in flying condition. Great recovery and landing!
That is a remarkable feat of airmanship. To make it back with so little altitude and so little room for error speaks to your skill. Glad to see you and the airplane made it back in one piece and I look forward to seeing you compete at Reno 2020!
😂 2020. And now... The Race ended on a bad note. Glad I went, and glad it's over. It needs to be modernized from the 1960's for safety of both pilots and spectators.
Microsoft’s Flight Simulator is releasing the “Reno Air Race” expansion later this year. I wonder if it’s possible for a simulator to even come close capturing the intensity of these races.
Dang! Well done maintaining your composure! You did the big 3 correctly (Aviate, navigate, communicate). I thought driving a funny car was nerve wracking!

A piece of information... the pilot that ran into the kraken was disqualified for the rest of the season and was giving a big warning for the future. Absolutely no one tolerates this behavior on the course so don't think we tolerate anything like it

the music is too much.
Music or muting is required to cut out the noise of the wind which is even louder than any engine noise.
@@Ross.Killin no its not
Glad you're okay and landed safely. Showing the damage would have made this video even better!

Just a wing tip!!?? Sir....you handled that text book, perfectly, etc.. kudos many times over. Outstanding.
I like how you say watch the wing tip and then don't show the wing tip at all, excellent video man, that shot of the wingtip says it all.
i'm still trying to figure out how he didn't see you

Im looking forward to trying it. With VR i think it could be really good fun.
Our the pointless death count.
😂
This sport definitely needs to be modernized from the 1960s. It has so many issues.
That was stellar piloting.
A skilful recovery, well-composed control and landing, the Kraken will be back in 2020, glad your ok buddy ;-)
Wow!!!! Respect for the quick reaction.
Nice recovery, Mister Killin. Got my adrenaline pumping just watching the tag.
Dude did the #15 pilot get a knuckle sandwich or what??!! 😂damn man glad your all good👍
VERY interesting. Thank you!
Love the jam, got me pumped up

I simply cannot believe you didn't show the damage on this vid!
some great flying post impact. glad you got it on the ground safely and both you and the aircraft will fly again.
I agree the music completely ruins it!!!!!! Try engine easing noises. !!!! Turned it off in less than 6 seconds
As of 2023, hence renamed: "The Reno Last Go-Round for Warbirds and 75-Year-Old Pilots"
Nice recovery and handling.
What rules apply here? Who was at fault?
starts at 4:22
Great job! How did that happen? And, can't believe how close the course comes to the Army Guard facility.
Rubbns'race'n
would have been good to see photos of the damage. Glad you both were ok
Hi, there are photos on the kraken fb page if you look back to then.

100% RELEASE THE KRAKEN…
Looked very Hairy from Pylon 6! So glad ya'll landed safely.
well that was a fun ride until he decided to play tag. awesome flyin gettin beack on the ground!
What type of aircraft are they using in the race?
Great footage. Not so much the soundtrack.
Can do without the music. Can't hear the engine.
Geeze....I'm glad ur okay bud. Why the hell did he get so close??
Ill let someone else answer that lol ;)
Was the other racer a noob?
So. What happened?
so the name of your mascot is "Philma"?
Really with the music?
Can't watch it with that irritating sound.
Sorry.
Good morning from SE Louisiana 5 Aug 21.
Excellent save, if i say so myself.
thank god he made it back
I bet that pilot thought a million different things before correcting himself.
Thank God, he managed landing safely
Nice landing, all things considered.
Looks like you were off pace to the other racers. Did you have engine issues as well? Glad you made it back safe. Good luck.
WOW
The music kills it
Mate you need to buy a Lotto ticket! Your so lucky!
Didn’t feel so lucky at the time lol
@@Ross.Killin lol, thinkin about the race ! Good to see you walked away !
Forget the music next time.
Original audio was a problem.
I was not expecting an Aussie to climb out of the cockpit..
Whew...Watching that gave me pucker factor...
It looked like you were going to crash there for a couple seconds.
Only if I stayed rammed upside down pointed at the ground for two more seconds!
Ok kid you passed your check ride
They need to stop this air racing cuz these guys aren't good enough for that
always come home

Would have been nice to the the ac's engine and not that music.

Photos not photo’s 😂
Couldn't enjoy the music with the stupid airplane shaking.
why, why, WHY does the stupid "music" HAVE to be played?!?!? would have been interesting to see the damage to both planes.
Tbh, i wouldnt care if any pilots crashed as long as they dont hurt other ppl. Shame on all of u for such reckless behavior
lol don't be such a cancer.
