You were an inspiration for me to try and build pcs and repair old hardware. Since 2020, I have helped over 20 family and friends to keep their existing hardware by repairing/upgrading them for free. Rather than purchasing expensive stuff and contributing to e waste.
Andrew to his girlfriend: "talk to me sensually!" "96% Isopropyl alcohol" - she whispers carefully. "Ahhhhh!" - Andrew melts into his pile of PC components. Great content, as always 😁
Brother, as always excellent videos... it is good to be recursive, with old parts and in this way, promote and take care of the environment giving it life. Greetings from Bogotá, Colombia
Great build! You could swap out the PSU and HSF for a SFX PSU and a low profile top down cooler and fit case panels on? You could then use those larger parts in a tower build!
I love your videos, repair tips and upgrades on PCs and laptops. My tip is: Wash everything with soap and water (removing the battery) and let it dry for 24 hours. Just vinegar and salt are enough to get the copper and aluminum shiny again in a few minutes. Then use WD40 or corrosion X to protect. I do it here in Brazil and it works well. Try it!
Hi, can you do a detail video how to properly repair a Intel socket pins? I bent some pins on my LGA1155 motherboard last year and I have been struggling to repair it since. Also at 8:53, can you share what type of vinegar do you use? How acidic is it?
This setup is definitely a great fit for a dual-boot Windows XP & 10 PC. Granted that the version Windows XP installed is 32-bit one & can only utilize 4GB RAM, but the fact GTX 960 graphics card still has the official (unmodded) driver for XP means most games prior to 2007 can run in 4K resolution or 60 fps in high settings.
Nice little PC build! I would have personally gone for a case that fits the cooler though, and also I would have had more than 256GB SSD. 256GB isn't much when some games are 100GB+. It is better to have 256GB SSD and then additional HDD.
I found, some time ago, 2 small size PCs. 1 is an HP Slimline Pavilion, & the other is a Lenovo IdeaCenter mini PC. The HP was a bit on the older side, as it has Win Vista. The Lenovo is more recent, but the previous owners put a screw in the HDD! They put a screw in the CD ROM drive in the HP, thinking it was the HDD! The HP CPU can be upgraded as well as the RAM. Thank you 🤓
Hello! Great videos 😄. Had one suggestion - can you also mention the prices at which you get the components/laptop, the expenditure you make on it, and the selling prices?
Not sure if you standed the heatsink would there be poor mounting pressure considering those are push pin mounted rather than screws. Also, not sure there would be pump out action due to the bare die chipset thermal expansion and contraction during use.
I had the exactly same gpu along an I5 6600 and 16gb ram. It can even run RDR2 pretty well. Now I've inherited it to my girlfriend for graphic design. She uses it with an ssd m.2 and still works pretty well.
I have a question. If I bought an old desktop computer with windows 7 maybe. would it play 1990's and early 200's cd rom games? or do I need an old gaming pc? I did get a few early 200's games to work on a small laptop but they kept on crashing.
You did very good job with the cleaning, but that CPU cooler is too overkill for that i5. Use the stock cooler and u can probably close the side panel.
Hey Andrew, Hi from Brazil, Guga here, fan for a long long time of your work. I wanna ask your something: Could you play VALORANT on your tests when you are testing old hardware?
Great job and great restoration, though personally, I would’ve stuck with the intel stock cooler as it’s low profile and makes more sense here. The 3rd gen i5 won’t need much more cooling anyways, if it’s even capable of drawing that much from that little board.
it's been a while I watch your video and I'm still waiting for you to do on a white macbook pro from 2008 it's the only one I have and it stops working but all these elements are good I would really like to have a video how one can turn it into a case for a computer otherwise you're the best keep it up
Screw he pc under your desk using some L brackets and screws. Use thick elastic bands to absorb movement and therefor noise. Cool build, well instructed. Nice video, thumbs up.
Not only the previous owner applied thermal paste over the thermal pad without mercy, he also used that cheap golden crap that looks like a mix between glitter and mustard. This isn't a PC build, it's a rescue operation.
Reminds me of repairing my relatives' PC, i5-661 from a i5-2310 because of a motherboard failure and scavenging another PC for it. Upgraded it to 16GB with a GT1030. Was gonna swap out to a Xeon Processor then few years later, I had some spares from a PC upgrade I did, so now it is kicking an old 650W PSU, i5-9400F, new mobo+RAM+NVMe SSD while reusing the case, HDD.
Tbf, that tower cooler is pretty excessive for i5-3330. I have it for 9 years already with stock intel cooler (with copper core), and it never heats up over 65℃ (even under 100% load in summer). It's very cold, and i like it for this.

Love seeing the heatsink slide after being sanded!
ikr it also happens with flat credit'ish cards when slid over surfaces
one of the most satisfying channels about tech, no overpriced junks, just pure recycling. love it
Contenido de Calidad!! Es lindo ver como aun el hardware "viejo" sigue siendo funcional.

Great content, as always 😁
Andrew - the magician of computer repair who can give life to an apparently dead computer and make it useful and almost new.
Great to see these older parts look brand spankin’ new 🥰👍🫠🤤. Great restoration work once again my man 😇👍. Love your work Andrew
IDK why it is so satisfying to watch reviving an old PC and cleaning it?
Nah! Seriously this is amazing..
The funny part is that I don't have any of those you are using except that little torch. *I Have It !*

amazing video, repurposing old components is really a great practice
Thank youu bro :)
This guy can really restore anything related to computers and consoles! Great video!
I'm sad because your trash is still better than both my towers
It’s very important to reuse things and computers are one of them. Well done, I like very much watching your videos. 👏🏼

0:52 I don't get it, why some peoples going to trash this gtx 960 gpu? I mean they could've sell it or give it someone for free😐

Nice, my favourite are sff build. you can replace the cpu cooler to noctua nh l9i so it would fit to that case
You did that with good TLC! Love it! Hope the system running well long into the future :D
To my eyes, that pc looks supercool.Different is a nice place to be,pc wise.

Great build, maybe post some costs of the parts so viewers can see the price of parts new and the used parts too, well done 👍
Your “trash” components are better than most PCs I’ve built 😂 love your work, man!
This build would look awesome with another LP cooler and a mesh side panel.
I love that he didn't cover the damn case. It reminded me of my old hacked PC. ❤️❤️❤️
I thing Noctua Cooling Fan is best for this build slim one .
Nice Build I like it !
your video is as good as always
Good video dude! I got a question, how do you know your near ewaste place ?
Cause i dont think i have it in my city
The CPU cooler it looks like it is sucking some of the PSU heat. Maybe use some protective shield between them?
- Professional , keep it up 🦾💯.

I’m wondering what do you do with the computers you restore

love your videos
Why not using a low profile cooler, then close the case with labels with lots of holes ?
Great work.
This build is perfect for pfsense router. Small and compact. I noticed that it have 2 lan port.
bf3 still looks so good!
Nice work as always.
Thank youu bro :D

OMG Andrew is bak with one more awsome video... Love you Andrew from INDIA
Tfw some of those parts are better than my current build
what is the name of the pc case you use? or somebody please tell me
Not only the previous owner applied thermal paste over the thermal pad without mercy, he also used that cheap golden crap that looks like a mix between glitter and mustard. This isn't a PC build, it's a rescue operation.
I would use that case for an audio amplifier!

What took you so long, Andrew?
I think you should add the AIO cooler instead of the air cooler for the Mini PC because they will look better.
That thermal paste looks like peanut butter XD
I love that small motherboard
