Yeah... My dad showed me Green Day I heard Boulevard of Broken Dreams first and I fell in love with that band! I'm 11 and when I tell my friends that my favorite band Is Green Day, they just look at me like I'm the biggest weirdo in the world... But music is more important to me than friends....
i am 13 and i first heard of green day when i was 4 and i watched the American Idiot music video and I was immediately hooked. I have collected so much fucking memorabilia over the years. growing up i would appear edgy to everyone else because i would act really punk and i actually performed Jesus of Suburbia with my friend on the drums in 4th grade and myself on guitar and vocals during my primary school talent show. Billie Joe is genuinely what i aspire to be and i have no idea who or where i would be without them. I was supposed to see them in 2014 at soundwave music festival here in Australia but my Grandmother died on that day (easily the worst day of my life) however me and my best friend (who played drums with me in 4th grade) have sworn that when they announce Australian tour dates for revolution radio, we will immediately buy standing tickets and probably camp at the venue the night before. Green Day means so much to me and im glad they mean so much to you too
I deffo went through the same with Gaga, she showed me that all pop music isn't boring generic trash and some of it is made with raw passion and talent!
I see the Bullet In A Bible DVD/VCD on the top of shelves! I bought it when I was 16 back on 2006, that concert really inspired me musically and on my whole view in world politics
mine were From Under the Cork Tree by Fall Out Boy A Fever You Can't Sweat Out by Panic! at the Disco In Love and Death by The Used, Eyes Set to Kill first album, His Last Walk by Blessthefall (when craig mabbit was the singer), Count your Blessings by Bring me the Horizon, and Saints of Los Angeles by Motley Crue
This is so weird, 5 of the 7 albums that you mentioned are in my personal favourites of all time as well haha. I love hearing about how people have changed because of music, and how much different their lives would be. For me it was Michael Jackson who opened my eyes, before him I just listened to music in the radio without paying too much attention to it, until his music showed me that lyrics actually have a meaning and that a song can actually change your life and the way you see the world. After him I discovered Green Day and I have never been the same. And also everyone who is a fan of bands like GD and MCR says the same about twenty one pilots, that they haven't felt that way about music in years. I'm so grateful for twenty one pilots for reminding me why I'm a fan of music, I think that you expressed it perfectly in this video :)
It's thanks to you that I started listening to TøP and I'm properly obsessed with them. I usually wouldn't consider listening to rappy stuff but I genuinely love their music, it's so nice to have something new to listen to as I usually only stick with Paramore, Death Cab for Cutie and Biffy 🙈 so yaaaas blurryface ❤️ (IF THEY PLAY UK YOU NEED TO TAKE ME OK)
Honestly green day is my favorite band of all time. American idiot is flawless from start to finish, greatest album ever. (I've probably listened to it close to 1000+ times as a whole
Green Day changed me too cuz im 13 and music today or at least in my school is gangster rap and Hip-Hop(Rich 12 year old kids who's parents bought them fame even if they suck which many do). Green day is better then that Dookie, It helped me get through the sucky parts of life. But anyway Good Video.
I love how Green Day are big in every generation it's mad, my mum loves them and she's in her 50's, I found them when I was 12 and that was 10 years ago
OMG David Bowie in Labyrinth. I completly forgot bout that. it was made the year after I was born. My mum used to hire it out for me and my big bro all the time. it was our favorite movie. have not seen it since I was bout 3 or 4. I am only getting bits and pieces in my memory. :) thank you for the memories. I wanted to learn starman after he died but I do it wrong and I kept on breaking down when I'd try to sing the chorus till I eventually nailed it. your version is awesome though. thats how I found you. :) please check out my channel if you wish. I have only put up a handful of covers. I wish to publish my book of poetry now that it is full (again) my first 2 were stolen. :( :) but that's okay. This book is way better. And I am looking forward to uploading originals once I have made more and copyright, cause some of my poems are also songs but I find it difficult to put the poems I write first to music. I have to do it the other way round (guitar then poetry over the top) anyway. :) thank you very much for the good memories and I think you're amazing. Sincerely Russell John McCallum P.s :) What was that song you do how at the end you mention about that shortness of breath? I cannot remember which one it was. I thought it was adorable anyway. :) and so are you for doing it. Peace.
I love Green Day too, dookie change my Life
