The bad bob has a little more hair and it seemed to make you "dig in" a bit more but the XTS seems to add a sweetness and gets glassy in a nice smooth way, not an overly bright/sharp way.
I have a bad bob in my modded SD-9 and I really dig it but I REALLY like what I'm hearing here with the XTS Pegasus, especially with single coils. XTS really does make fantastic stuff and I think they're underrated. Every one of their drives is excellent. They each have their own sound and gain range but what they all seem to have in common is they don't destroy the natural dynamics and underlying sound of your guitar and amp, meaning they don't OVERLY color, even the higher gain stuff. They also all seem to "stack" really well with other pedals.
It seems to me like alot of guitarists think any two (or more) drives they like will just work well stacked but often that's just not the case. With XTS stuff though, it seems like it is.
Thanks for posting and nice playing.

Your base clean tone is pretty outstanding, and nice playing! What kind of speaker are you using in the video?

Hey thanks for the kind words. The Quinnamp Texas Steel was plugged through a 2x12 D-Style Cab (oval back) loaded with WGS ET65 (4ohms).

I believe the difference with the boost will be more noticeable if you just click it on WHILE playing. Also, to my ears, the XTS sounds thin, and the Bob sounds killer.

I think you might sound better with the bad bob! It brings something out in your playing...

I agree! XTS is good, but seems just a standard clean boost. Bad Bob adds little grind! Sounds killer here :)

The ''Bad Bob'' felt good under the fingers and is more of an effect than just a volume boost. In the end it's all a matter of taste and what you really need. Cheers.

PHIL WEST thanks for the message. You can request a higher gain bad bob from analogman, do you think its a good thing?

heinz B I believe the original Bad Bob circuit already as plenty of gain. So I wouldn’t see the use of have more gain. It’s now a clean boost anymore if it as too much gain on tap. It defeat the purpose. Cheers

@@heinzb74 he just offers a Bad Bob with a drive knob, along with standard volume. So when drive knob is maxed, it's the same as regular bad bob. It actually reduces drive.. to make it more of a true clean boost. You can also get a double bad bob and run one as a master volume and make a sort of overdrive out of it. I just ordered the standard Bob w/ drive knob. I know this comment is old, but I'll report back if anybody is curious.
