I think he didn't publish it due to it being a personal farewell ''letter'' to his lover Maria Wodzińska. Chopin came to visit her house and family in Geneva. She fell in love with him. When Chopin was leaving he wrote this piece for her, as a farewell gift (that is why the name is l'adieu) written in 1835. In 1836 Maria and Chopin were engaged to be married, but her father objected, mostly due to Chopin's poor health, and their relationship ended in 1837.
Her father objected because he wanted his daughter to marry royalty. And l'adieu was latter named by Maria, I think it was orginianly named "my sorrow".
@@kvnjng Chopin never intended it as a farewell waltz, he never authorized that title, it was Maria's family that concocted that Romantic story around it.
You should be able to finish the rest of the piece then. The remaining passages are not any harder then the opening. There are a few weird rolling chords in the left hand but they don't take too long to get used to. It all looks much harder than it is.
@@davidthepianist6152If you think in a different way (my way),yes, the begginning is really sad,but after the starter it comes a melody that looks a little happy :v.
It was a great choice for a death theme considering how often the game tried to kill you! I never got sick of hearing it as a kid and love that you could play it on a gramophone along with The Blue Danube.
ce morceau me fait penser a ma maman ♥️
This was posthumously published? Chopin was too damn hard on himself. This is one of his best waltzes in my opinion

This piece was made because his girlfriend said no when. Chopin asked her to marry him I think something like that
Chopin only published through op 65. Anything past op 65 was found after his death and published posthumously.

There's a little melancholy in it. But there's some joy, too. It's beautiful.
I think it's my favorite piece by Chopin.
I'm a little late (Lol) but I agree. This waltz gives me a warm and cozy feeling, like nostalgia.
I agree too!
2:29 when you can't figure out how to return to the top of the section and just throw in something weird to get there
There you go, Chopin ran out of ideas.
I get this impression a lot from Liszt and Chopin. I still enjoy their music though, mostly.
Magnifique

On me dit "musique de chambre", je réponds "musique dont tu ne connaîtras jamais la beauté."

Few rolling chords lol? It’s a b flat 7 bruh. That’s the only one I’ve ever seen and played
This sounds like a piece that chopin composed while he was at bed with disease, but he was happy at same time.(Its just what i tought)
