    This was posthumously published? Chopin was too damn hard on himself. This is one of his best waltzes in my opinion

    • @kvnjng
      @kvnjng 7 лет назад +56

      I think he didn't publish it due to it being a personal farewell ''letter'' to his lover Maria Wodzińska.
      Chopin came to visit her house and family in Geneva. She fell in love with him. When Chopin was leaving he wrote this piece for her, as a farewell gift (that is why the name is l'adieu) written in 1835. In 1836 Maria and Chopin were engaged to be married, but her father objected, mostly due to Chopin's poor health, and their relationship ended in 1837.

    • @GeroG3N
      @GeroG3N 6 лет назад +11

      Her father objected because he wanted his daughter to marry royalty. And l'adieu was latter named by Maria, I think it was orginianly named "my sorrow".

    • @YoBoof
      @YoBoof 5 лет назад +5

      This piece was made because his girlfriend said no when. Chopin asked her to marry him I think something like that

    • @Tholtfan
      @Tholtfan 5 лет назад +4

      Chopin only published through op 65. Anything past op 65 was found after his death and published posthumously.

      @@kvnjng Chopin never intended it as a farewell waltz, he never authorized that title, it was Maria's family that concocted that Romantic story around it.

    You should be able to finish the rest of the piece then. The remaining passages are not any harder then the opening. There are a few weird rolling chords in the left hand but they don't take too long to get used to. It all looks much harder than it is.
