1) you are cool 2) you are fun 3) you explain well 4) thank you Lol no seriously. Its so fun to watch your videos on explaining weird IUPAC chemistry names, and we really learn from it efficiently! THANKUUUUUUUU
Thank you SO much Leah! Your nomenclature videos have been helping me in a dire time of need. I love the way you start simple before moving on to more complex examples; a tactic my organic chemistry professor does not seem to find of importance. Yeah, so I am quite happy to have found you.
Very well put together, professional and asthetically pleasing. I've done my fairshare of videoediting and animation, and I can tellyour videos take time to put together so smoothly. Your voice is a lot nicer to listen to than my professor's too lol. I have an ester lab exam soon, so thank you very much for the help and keep up the great videos. =)
I will keep listening to your videos. They are helping me piece together unsaid points in the book. This is my second time taking ochem, I withdrew last semester. I am doing what it takes but I still feel lost after a days study. Ill keep at it though. Thank you for these videos. It is much appreciated. Four weeks left until my final. Im soo lost. ..

As a lower priority group, the aldehyde can get the prefix "oxo" or "formyl". The "oxo" is more commonly seen. For more on Functional Groups, make sure to see my tutorial at Leah4sci.com/Functional
@@Leah4sci I am Indian na! And the way of speaking English of Indians is different from Americans, Australians or other foreigners... Yes or not? So your English speaking style is weird for me...... Please don't mind my words.... because your voice is too sweet..😊😊😊👍👍👍👍
That doesn't follow IUPAC nomenclature rules, also keep in mind that the group holding the carbonyl is different from the group attached to the oxygen and therefor must be referenced separately in your name.

You're so very welcome! I'm glad I was able to help!
Thank you so much for the time and effort you've put into your videos. This is a huge help for an extremely stressful class!
You're very welcome, so happy to help you with destressing!
wish i had thought to check these out during the semester, not just for finals. still really helpful and great for review!
Happy I was able to help you with finals!
I am impressed with the way you lecture...Your videos really help me prepare myself for the tests and examination.....
Awesome, happy to help!
you always make the subject understandable and interesting
I'm so glad my videos help you to understand!

So happy to help fill those gaps for you!
you are best in chemistry , thank you for making it so simple and easy.
You are most welcome!
Thank you so much Leah, you are such a Great teacher. God bless you
You're very welcome!
Thank you very much. I'm having a hard time on Org. Chemistry but it all changed since I watched your videos. God Bless.
I'm so glad to hear that I was able to help you through orgo!
Easy to understand and follow! Thanks a lot Leah!
You're so welcome!
Thank u so much ..I was so messed up with nomenclature of esters and amines .very helpful
I'm glad I could help!
Thank you for saving my life
You're very welcome!
Love from India🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳. . Oosum clear concept
Thanks!
At 5:50 you say that the aldehyde is 6-oxo when the name should be 6-formyl, but the video was helpful overall!
***** isn't oxo for ketone substituents and formyl for aldehydes?
yes
So concise. I love it. Thank you!
You're welcome!
Excellent lesson! 😊
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much!!
You're very welcome!
Love your videos!!!
Happy to hear it!
Who else has a final in under 3 days
Me tomorrow
hope it went well
thank you so much!!!! our finals is tomorrow and i don't have any notes (because I'm lazy :D). i now have a chance to atleast get 75%.
You're very welcome!
Thankyou so much! U saved my lifeee
Happy to help!
thanx leah....you're awesome..God bless
Aww, you're welcome!
Excellent
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks! Your video was very helpful!!
You're so welcome, happy I could help!
Thanks your videos are best
You're welcome :)
Thank you so much 💕
You're so welcome!
hi so i got a little confused at 3:53. how come you didn't name the ester: 1,2-dimethylpropanoate? why do you have to name them individually?
Thanks Leah for help
You are very welcome!
At 5:52, wouldn't the aldehyde be called "formyl" instead of "oxo"?
agreed!
agreed!
but oxo is for ketone
How can both be correct when oxo is for ketones and formyl is for aldehydes? This is confusing to me.
I'd like to know the answer to this as well.
Thank you very much
You are welcome
I always refer this channel to people that want to review organic chemistry.
Thank you!!
Thanks a lot dear 😁now l have a clear idea 💡
You're welcome, glad it helped!
thank you so much
You're so welcome!
around ~4:00 why isnt it called 2,1dimethylpropanoate?
@6:13 what if there is methoxy and ethoxy in place of methoxy on both carbons?

I thought oxo is for ketone 5:58
Yes, AND for aldehydes when not the highest priority though some will use 'formyl' for the aldehyde
@Leah4sci thanks for your reply your video was rlly helpful
I love your naming technique!
Glad you like it!
I thought oxo- was only used for when Ketone was a substituent
Ketones and aldehydes when they are NOT the highest priority group on your molecule
Superb explanation....
But your style of telling 'methyl, ethyl' is weird....yet it's nice to hear😊
what's weird about it?

thank you very much ! :)
You're welcome!
cool vid but i had to look up what a carbonyl was.
I have a functional group guide that covers it leah4sci.com/functional-groups-guide
did anyone get the online study guide through their email i dont see it😭
Sorry you're having trouble with the ebook. Please email me at leah4sci.com/contact and my assistant will help you.
4:11 - couldnt it be named as: 1,2 dimethylpropanoate?
theres a methyl with the O on carbon 1 and one on carbon 2?
OMG ! Whats is better than a beautiful girl teaching science ! SOOOO NICE !!
Glad you enjoyed my video
@@Leah4sci wow, what was wrong with me?
Amazing video :"D
Thanks!
In the last example why are we giving preference to one benzene ring Can the name of that compound be diphenyl methanoate??

OMYGOD THANK YOUUUUU
You're welcome!
You just saved my ass for tomorrow! Thankyou :D

girl you should really consider teaching organic
Thanks, but I love what I do too much to only teach in one place :)
I love you
thank you!

i wish u could replace my college professor
I'll keep my day job :) but happy to help!
I wish I knew you earlier
Better late than never?
I hate chemistry
Oh no! I hope understanding will help you like it (Or at least not hate it so much)
