      @@mahatmaniggandhi2898 I believe that it's because Arabic is a highly fusional language with lots of inflection and declensions for its words, even more so than in Spanish, French or Greek. Moreover, the Semitic triconsonantal root system means that infecting a word involves shifting the entire structure of the word in a manner more similar to a rubik cube than merely 'sandwiching' a stem in between prefixes and suffixes, so it becomes harder for learners to identify how a word is constructed.

    • @thorin1045
      @thorin1045 2 года назад

      yep, also in many case, the difficulty comes from the writing system, most far eastern language would be much easier for the english (latin alphabet) users, if they had a simpler writing system.

    The reason why French takes longer to learn for English speakers than the other Romance languages (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian...) is because they are way more intuitive. French has silent letters and a lot of different letters combinations that can change sounds. Also some sounds can be difficult to learn like the nasal sounds.

    • @luisgoncalosilva6194
      @luisgoncalosilva6194 2 года назад +8

      You know that Portuguese also has vowal sounds and silent letters, we are also a stress-timed language and we use accentuated vowel reduction. The last two are the reasons sometimes Portuguese sounds like eastern European languages.

    7:19 "It's a little freaky to think about this part of Canada just being on fire". It actually does get hot over there in Canada. Inland places don't have big bodies of water to regulate temperature, so it can get hot af in the summer. An Inland place in Canada got to 122 F last year. Plus, in a city near Edmonton, there was a huge forest fire in 2016 that basically burned down the city and caused one of the biggest evacuations in Canadian history. So being on fire isn't exactly a new thing for that place either.

    As Finnish it's really easy and fast to learn Japanese, like crazy easy... English is much harder but since every Finn starts learning English on first/second grade it's hard to think how hard it would be to learn English as a adult. Romance languages are very hard since there is so many silent letters and weird twists in pronouncing that for me personally those languages are no go.
    Also as a Finnish person I can tell you that if you wanna be able to understand Finnish fluently in whole Finland, it's one of the hardest languages there is to learn. However if you ask Finn to speak clearly and drop the slangs/accents etc then you can learn Finnish in few weeks without problems since everything is pronounced as written, you just gotta figure out those double vowels and you will be good to go.
    ( I used to speak pretty hard to understand way of Finnish because it was deep old Karelian with lots of different Eastern Finnish accents + Toroppalan "T" which means that all "T"s were "D"s. After moving to the capital it was hard to speak with people because they thought I spoke another language and I seriously hate how Finns speak Finnish in Southern Finland and unfortunately that same style has changed my way of speaking too.)

    9:10 the key here is that the weeks are adjusted to the the rythm of an FSI diplomat: ie not just an average English speaker. It is targeted to people who take courses of 25 hours a week with an extra 2-3 hours a day of self study. A normal person who learns a language as a hobby and not for work might take 5-8 hours of lessons a week, plus 2 hours every two or three days to study. Essentially, you should at least triple if not quadruple the number of weeks to get a more accurate picture. The key is the number of hours.

    Sure Indonesian language may seems easy to learn.. and yes it's actually easy.. but it's the formal, rigid and textbook version that's easy..
    But to really master the pronunciation, and the words used in daily conversation, and to speak fluently like an Indonesian.. it's easier said than done..
    And even if you confident that you're already master it, try going to different regions or provinces and you'll find they used a different versions of Indonesian, some are just slightly different, others are much different.. because of local languages influence on it..

      Nuclear power is one of the cleanest and safest forms of energy production; it’s a zero emission clean energy source with a very low footprint compared to other sources and it produces very little waste.
      Also nuclear waste can be reused and recycled but unfortunately because of the stigma surrounding nuclear energy spurred on by ignorant environmentalists the U.S doesn’t currently do that...
      And just so you know; all the nuclear waste created by power plants in the U.S over the last 60 years could fit on a football field at a depth of less than 10 yards...
