투개월 김예림은 올 한해 가장 화려한 신인이었다. 지난 6월 첫 번째 미니 앨범 [A Voice]를 발표하며 가요계에 정식 데뷔한 김예림은 'All Right'을 깜짝 히트시키며 대형 신인으로 거듭났다. 그녀의 유일무이한 음색은 가요계뿐만 아니라 방송가에서도 연일 화제였다. 9월에 발표한 두 번째 미니 앨범 [Her Voice]는 그녀의 음색과 가장 잘 어울리는 장르를 모색했던 앨범이었다.
특히 선공개곡인 'Rain'과 타이틀곡 'Voice'는 가요계 선후배들과 음악애호가들로부터 음악적 완성도를 인정받았다. 김예림은 이 두 장의 미니 앨범을 통해 대중적 성공과 비평적 성공이라는 두 마리를 토끼를 동시에 잡았다. 데뷔 첫 해의 신인 가수가 해낸 것이라고는 믿을 수 없을 만큼 놀라운결과였다.
2013년이 저물어가는 11월 중순, 김예림은 두 장의 미니 앨범을 통해 발표했던 곡들에 미발표 신곡인 ' Goodbye20'와 '널 어쩌면 좋을까'를 더하여 정규 1집 앨범 [Goodbye 20]을 완성했다. 이번에 새로 발표하는 노래 2곡은이전 미니 앨범에서 선보였던 노래들과는 또 다른 스타일이다. 미스틱89의 프로듀서인 정석원이 처음으로 김예림과 호흡을 맞추며 2곡 모두 작곡했다.
특히 타이틀곡인 'Goodbye 20'는 김예림이 이제껏 선보였던 노래 중 가장 경쾌하고 발랄하다. 스무 살이 되면 모든 게 달라질 거라고 생각했던 소녀가 막상 스무 살이 된 다음 그리 달라지지 않은 현실을 마주하고서는 귀엽게 푸념한다는 게 노래의 콘셉트이다. '나만 이래? 다들 행복했니? How about your 20, Girl?' 하고 또래들에게 투정을 부리는 듯한 가사가 김예림의 진심을 담았다.

1 년전 나왔던 이노래 찾아서 20살에서 21살 넘어가면서 노래 들을 때 '진짜 한게 없다'하면서 씁쓸해하면서 들었었는데
27살인 지금은 그냥 '아 그땐 그게 전부라고 느껴지고 그럴 수도 있었겠다' 싶고 그때 고민했던 일들이 지금에 와서는 기억도 안나네요
그냥 그런 모든 일들에 마음 아파하고 속상해하고 설레했던 20살이 생각날 때마다 이 노래 들으면 다시 떠올라서 좋아요

i can really relate this song. thats just how it feels growing up. we were expecting better days as we grow older, but in reality nothing seems to change.
I remember finding this song 7 years ago at 13. Now in October 2022, I'm halfway through 20. This whole song really encompasses my expectations as a child looking at 20. Now I'm struggling halfway through my 3rd year of college, trying my best to adjust moving, and currently procrastinating on essays that were due a few weeks ago. It isn't too bad but it could be better Just a lot of stress. As boring as it can be, I'm glad to just take it one day at a time. To all the 20 year olds who are struggling with different expectations, you're not alone! Don't put so much pressure on yourself either! Just remember to take moments for yourself and breathe. You got this!

이때랑 지금 음악이랑 비교해보면 윤종신이랑 예림이랑 생각하는 방향이 달랐던 것 같음.
윤종신은 김예림의 목소리를 다양하게 들려주려고 했었고, 예림이는 자신의 음악 세계관을 표현하려고 했던 것 같고...
창작자가 자신이 생각하는 작품을 만드는 게 제일 좋은 거라고 할 수 있겠지만, 그래도 이 시절을 좋아하는 사람들이 많다는 걸 기억해주고 좋은 프로듀싱 받아서 다시 한 번 (지금 나온 앨범도 나쁜 앨범은 아니지만) 좋은 앨범 내주면 좋겠다...........

I turned 21 today .. oh how I grew so fast! Her song just describes everything so well. I've always thought that by the time I reach 21 years old, I would be in total love with the perfect guy for me, having the best days in university with the best grades, have a dozen and a half of almost-best-friends, "adults" would take me more seriously and give me bigger responsibilities.
