Great video. I recently changed my Kenari’s engine oil, from mineral oil (Perodua) to synthetic oil (Helix 15W50 High Mileage). I notice during engine startup, white smoke emitted at the exhaust pipe for the first 3 minutes. An RUclips video shows that it could be due to this PCV valve.
Oh i didnt know that. Why use such a thick oil? Kenari i remember u have to take out the hose that leads from the engine back to the air filter intake. It normally gets blocked
If the pcv is hard to pull out, it means that the grommet has hardened and is no longer flexible. Which also means it can't perform its sealing function and need to be changed.
A Pressure Control Valve (PCV) is a one-way valve attached to the engine breather pipe and allows the engine to vent crankcase pressure out of the engine. It is also called crank case ventilation valve. By venting pressure out of the crankcase, an engine's piston rings are allowed to seal tighter against the cylinder walls.
The PVC release the pressure (with unwanted gases) and send back to the combustion chambe via intake manifold, in order to reduce air pollution. (The unwanted gases, called "blow-by" from the combustion chamber which have leaked and pass through the piston rings into the crankcase create extra pressure inside the crankcase.)
Takde sintom. Enjin mudah jadi panas. Enjin gasket senang rosak. Minyak hitam leaking. Kadang kali mekanik tukar gasket baru pun tak check valve ini. Lepas tu gasket baru pun rosak lagi.
