    My Okinawan mother, who has lived in Texas the past 45 years, is in hospice and is transitioning. I’m going to play this for her. Thank you for making this video.

    Why is this being held on Hawaii? Are a lot of Japanese immigrants Okinawan?

      Hawaii is the closest place in the US to Japan. A lot of Japanese either visit or immigrate there.

      This was an annual event held at Kapiolani Park in Waikiki, Hawaii. Once the Pandemic ends, they may have it at Hawaii Convention Center near Ala Moana Shopping Center.
