Full Metal Jacket: A Benefit Auction for the Purple Heart Foundation

Matthew Modine’s photographs detail the behind-the-scenes making of Stanley Kubrick’s wartime masterpiece Full Metal Jacket. Kubrick, who was notoriously guarded regarding on-set photography, permitted only his starring actor to photograph it, offering Kubrick fans a rare insider’s glimpse into the nearly two-year film-making process. Timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the film's release, this auction will benefit The Purple Heart Foundation. Since 1957, the foundation has provided hope and healing to veterans and their families, enabling them to live the American dream they protected through their service and sacrifice.
