Hey Matt! I used a couple of finished to be honest, I tried shellac but it didn’t gloss up too much so I did a couple of layers of cellulose sanding sealer.

Never been a fan of vases, pretty useless are wooden vases. Wood and water don’t go well together. However some people like then for dried flowers, bloody dust collectors. All that said you turned a lovely piece of ash into something which looks nice. Well done my friend. Now all you need to do is find tha person who really must have it. Good luck.

Very nice. Did you use indexing on your lathe to figure the scallops. Turned out great.
