    We visited Sequoia National Park twice and made two stops to the General Sherman Tree. Both times we parked in the main parking lot off of Wolverton Road. It is 1 mile round trip. We also hiked the Congress Trail which is located near the General Sherman Tree. That trail boasts some of the biggest trees in the Giant Forest. General Sherman is the world's largest tree by volume and weight. It towers at 275 feet and has a diameter of 35.5 feet. It is a heavily populated trail to get to the tree and descends 212 feet from the parking lot. Explore the area as there are several loops to check out other giant sequoia trees. More about it in the video.

    I loved both these trails and I remember when I got my very 1st National Park pass, this was the 1st National Park I visited. Really cool that you saw bears on the way over! I didn't realize even though general Sherman is the biggest tree in the park, it's not the oldest. Little man was really tiny back then lol 🤣. A lot of really great information and another awesome video adventure to call your own.

    • @WithinHikingDistance
      @WithinHikingDistance  5 лет назад +1

      How special Sequoia NP must be for you Eric! 😊 What impressed me most was the size of the branches - Redwoods have much smaller branches. Good job noticing our Little Man was younger! This video is from June last year when my sister and mum visited. No more stroller to push around now - yay!!! 😀 Thank you so much for always being there Eric!

      Park rangers by the road confirmed the mom and cub were black bears. They come in different shades of colors and you can find more information in this video: ruclips.net/video/a__zllEvrQk/видео.html Thanks for watching.
