I have the Prime and it’s SOOOO GREAT to have these new updates! I use it in every gig, and these new updates will make the live show that much more exciting!!! Thanks for sharing this video! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The editor is far superior to anything else out there. You can use it on any device, multiple devices at once. Tablets, phones, laptop, etc anything.... Headrush not only changed the game, they just jumped ahead of everyone else with 4.0.
James from the Studio Rats showed how he made 5 clones of the same amp at different gain levels. Then he combined them all to make a super clone. It made for a great transition of the different gain levels. He even made the statement that he thought the Headrush clones sounded better than Quad Cortex captures. :)
Thanks for sharing this vid!🤟 The super clone feature like breaks away from just the normal clones and lets you sort of find a "new breed" of tones that could be sooo expensive to do analog (for obvious reasons). And headrush's move to a web-based editor takes away compatibility issues (pc/mac), which can now be accessible with literally any device that can connect to a wifi with a browser. I've got a prime, and I love it so much. Its not a neural dsp qc, but its not trying to be one.
The last two firmware updates have solved all my gripes but one. Major props for more options in vocal/guitar signal paths, and being able to split left and right XLR for vocals and guitar is really nice. But I'd still love the option to assign effects tempo to individual rigs instead of having to tap it in every time I change rigs for a new song, or having to program it to individual effects.
Would be nice to have a content creator that puts out regular Headrush Prime/Core tutorial type videos. You could literally corner the market and get all of the Headrush user views, as nobody else gives the Headrush any love other than the cursory product release and update videos.
The Tone Junkies guys, who Steve probably knows, have many videos on HR 2nd Gen products and have raved about their tones, and they're big Fractal guys.
That's because head rush is horrible when it comes to how they support their older products. They quite literally force you to buy a brand new version for no reason at all. Look at the MX-5 which came out in 2021. That unit is perfectly capable of doing everything that the new headrush flex prime is doing. It is physically capable of doing everything. Yet they lie and claim that you need to buy a whole new unit in order to get the new features. It's insanely corrupt.
The switch pressing is a major upgrade. One block can have two different amps set completely different and you can choose between them (you can still also choose to run them in parallel).
Most working musicians I know have a tablet or touchscreen laptop mounted on their mic stands, where they can access their charts, lyrics, and setlists. So this makes perfect sense.
I recently inherited some money. I bought a new in the box Headrush Looperboard, the Headrush Prime, and a brand new Framus Teambuilt Devin Townsend Signature Stormbender. I already had a pair of Headrush FRFR 112s and a single Headrush FRFR 108. Steve is right. The Prime is massive. So much so that I'm buying a Flex just to have downstairs. And probably a a pair of the new FRFR Go for stereo separation.
Hello for Kentucky. You said you helped launch Headrush Prime. I want to love this unit however, I have noticed that on high gain amps, the presence and depth control doesn’t charge the sound of the amp. For example, I had an Engl powerball for years and loved it. But I. The headrush there is not change on the power amp controls unlike the amp head which was very responsive. Much respect and hope to hear from you
I’m a helix player many years .. i am shocked at what HR is offering . I for some reason still don’t like the u it’s look or interface something about it but it offers so much so many nice features basically if i made a wish list HR has it. Maybe if i owned one I’d get used to the interface and ui and really like it .
@SteveSterlacci I'm getting one soon. Do you know if it's possible to stream the audio from the Flex via Bluetooth to a Bluetooth speaker? Such as the new HR FRFR Go?
Not really. It's nothing to carry around compared to my pedal board and it's probably half the weight. I bought it for the user interface, touchscreen and very easy to use.
Clonning on new fw of headrush core is quite qood (in quality mode) A lot of new improwments. One thing is missing me: 3-4 stereo tracks recorder for music ideas. You can record on looper, but only one track. Second, you can't record guitar together with playback from bluetooth (unless I can't setup this ?)
Im just so curious with all the mic features and autotune. People aren't really taking about it and they really should be since its coming from the industry standard of autotune. I haven't tried one of these boards yet, but I think if its anything near what the UAD Apollo stuff, it might be a really interesting pedal for Vocalist's/Acoustic/Electric Guitar player's. I really want to know, how good the preamp is on the XLR input jack. I kind of thought Headrush was offering a lot before in there OG device's for the value, but they seem to be offering even more now and show way more promise. The computer software and routing updates are game changer's. Hopefully these new device's have none of weird latency or the bricking issue's the old unit's sometimes had.. To be fair they are really good about support when it came to issue's in general.
Just got my prime today. Am I able to update the firmware to 4.0 with Wi-Fi or do I need to do it thru my computer? Prob is I don’t have the required OS system on my Mac. Thanks for any input and for the video. Peace
Hey, Steve. Do you know if you can bring an IEM feed into the system & route it to come out through the headphone socket, with your mic & guitar, and then have only the Vox & Gtr go to FOH?
Excellent video! One question. Can I record a guitar track through the loop and then export it in some way (pendrive, cloud, or any other way)? If so, can you tell me what the recording resolution is? Thanks
are there differences between the new unit and the old ones besides some form-factors? I like the gigboard and the core because i don't want a volume pedal attached to the unit. but is this new unit still better to get, regardless?
Superclone seems a little gimmicky and I'm surprised the 'Revalver" brand is still being used... I recall Revalver back in the Peavey days when it was a poor mans Amplitube 2/3. Good video thou and interesting product... the market is a little saturated now, be interesting to see how this goes.
Been hearing reviews saying that all editing can be done on a tablet and phone, not needing to download any apps. Is that correct? Would be so nice if possible thanks
Nope! I'm a stomp and go kinda guy. Returned my Headrush unit. I don't have the time and patience for this loading, matching, setting, tweaking, adjusting, analyzing, morphing and fine tuning! I'm sticking with my all analog pedal board.
Is there a way to get a smoother amp tone from the pedal? I updated my pedal board prime and it’s super bright with the tone. I have to use the neck pickup and roll the tone knob to zero to get a little warmer tone.
Use the parametric EQ to roll of the high frequencies. Start with a LPF/High cut filter and move it to where it sounds best. Somewhere around 6-8k would probably be a good ballpark for that.
This website doesn't work for me. As soon as I realized that they were no longer updating the MX-5 after just 3 years I immediately returned my head rush flex prime. Why? Why would I update something that is just going to be outdated in 3 years time? Other units like neural DSP keep their things updated for far longer than 3 years.
If you’re happy with the sounds and how the modeler works, what would updates matter? It’s obviously nice to have updates, but it’s not like it renders the hardware useless if the user likes the sounds, workflow and is comfortable with it. These days it’s not like you need to continuously spend more money to get a better sounding device. Most of these modelers have been out for several years now and it doesn’t look like many are looking to come out with a new one anytime soon.
I feel let down by Headrush after buying their Looperboard 5 years ago but I can only recall 1 update since then! Never buying their gear again. Headrush could learn a lot from Line 6 re customer retention
This. The original HR had some much more potential and it got abandoned very quickly. Also their customer service is ass. People should stay away from companies like this one.
Trade in value is pretty strong on the original pedalboard, which has been out 7 years now. The OG is still an amazing unit. I got $550 selling mine. Sweetwater has Primes selling at $999 now. So $450 for the upgrade isn't that bad. I won't be upset if in 7 years I have to spend another $450 to upgrade again. $50 bucks a year isn't that bad if they keep the improvements coming strong.
Excellent video! One question. Can I record a guitar track through the loop and then export it in some way (pendrive, cloud, or any other way)? If so, can you tell me what the recording resolution is? Thanks

I have the Headrush Core and I was so stoked by this recent update. I tried the web based editor and it works great!
Its a great day for team HR

One of the most underrated features of the core and the prime is the volume knobs they go to 11.
Cause it's 1 more!
It goes louder!
It's because they originate from Eleven rack, which also had the characteristic of going up to volume 11
@@fabiopalleze ... And Eleven Rack got it from Spinal Tap.
Kudos for not drowning your demo in reverb.. what a great update!
Thanks for checking it out!
I do think this is a huge improvement...
Thank you Headrush 💯
Pretty innovative stuff from a company that I thought had disappeared from the space.

Digitech did the morphing amps on the GNX4 and other GNX pedals . It was a great idea
The switch pressing is a major upgrade. One block can have two different amps set completely different and you can choose between them (you can still also choose to run them in parallel).
This is for sure the golden age of guitar gear.
Most working musicians I know have a tablet or touchscreen laptop mounted on their mic stands, where they can access their charts, lyrics, and setlists. So this makes perfect sense.
Yes too bad it doesn't work....
You could make a transistor radio in a tin can sound great.
Just learnt about the headrush flex today and I think ill replace my ampero 2 stomp with it.
I❤ HeadRush.

Call me crazy but my Kemper Stage can't keep up with my Prime & Core. Such underrated products. 💯
They really are underrated. I really dig prime and my Flex Prime just arrived!
@SteveSterlacci
I'm getting one soon.
Do you know if it's possible to stream the audio from the Flex via Bluetooth to a Bluetooth speaker?
Such as the new HR FRFR Go?
Will this be able to replace the regular audio interface ?
Superclone sounds great! Is it on the cloud???
Good update!
But unfortunately they forgot the missing MIDI implementation again.
Headrush prime is so damn big and heavy though! being heavier and larger than the Helix is quite something else....
Not really. It's nothing to carry around compared to my pedal board and it's probably half the weight. I bought it for the user interface, touchscreen and very easy to use.
If you think the HR prime is heavy you're a puss

Was their anything cool added for the Vocals portion of the Core/Prime in the 4.0 Firmware update?
How's the latency with the SuperClones? Also the CPU usage was super high.
I have a core and I dont feel the latency on the superclones at all. YMMV.
Im just so curious with all the mic features and autotune. People aren't really taking about it and they really should be since its coming from the industry standard of autotune. @@SteveSterlacciThanks😊
@@AmadeuCamposPoker yeah you can use dropbox integration
