A nicely set table makes a difference in your games. My first 40k game featured amazing soup can towers, cereal box warehouses and empty bases that are absolutely units. Now I am nearly done completing the Ultramarine 4th Company in it's entirety, and our table features more terrain pieces than it can actually hold...glorious.
Hmm, once I have one of these Crowns, I probably need to start a new army. At the core I'd have a HQ- unit which has to include: A grumpy veteran from the Long War with lots of decorations, some sort of Egyptian- themed Terminator (Thousand Sons?) with a staff-mounted bolter, a blonde Daemonette and one of Lorgar's bookworms. Because they are all from sort of a mirror-universe, they all need to have mustaches painted - yes, that includes the Daemonette; it's called laws of physics for a reason. 😆And they need a proper name to make the galaxy tremble. I will call them: SG 1 😁.

Now an admission from me, I was watching something else when your notification popped up, and I admit what I was watching is absolute crap, it was that 1969 movie (movie?) 'Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women'.... I need saving, my eyes still hurt. In my defence I love sci-fi and this is (apparently) sci-fi, really bad sci-fi but still. So here's the thing, 90 odd minutes of that drivel is properly exorcised by just 15 mins of perfection with your wee video, thank you that saved my bacon

Chaos demons player supplemented by chaos marines. I bought the arcane tower from the fantasyvside for additional terrian. However, I couldn't get the damn model to fit together and look right, so i scrapped it. I used it with a small basilica kit, funnel, dryed bark, and a wooden stand made a silver tower of tzeentch. Used spare chain and wire to make things appear to rotate around the tower, then finally used a lg quartz crystal i had laying around as the topper. Looked absolutely beautiful
I SWEAR the way to get a new Bandy to drop is to be listening to his backlog, as i do, and it just so happens as i click on CHAOS THE STORY SO FAR... A NEW BANGER DROPS!... Baldys psycher abilities are coming along nicely!!!
Good terrain really makes a battlefield. Really should convert that little crashed drone we found. And make some modular craters. And weird alien groves out of aquarium decorations... Oh well 😅
I've got a pretty well stocked and decently sized Warhammer store near me, for a Yankee that is, but even at my store terrain from GW is rare. Luckily my store carries 3rd party stuff, but there isn't much official terrain and scenery goodies to get my hands on.
Oh i just bought a maulerfiend to kitbash with a Gothizzar Harvester along with a warpsmith and primaris techmarine to cobble together.... plastic crack indeed. I was supposed to be finished lol!!
This makes me wonder if the Crowns are even as useful now with the Great Rift open considering that many Daemons can now easily cross the Immaterial Universe to the Material Universe, and that makes wonder if any Chaos Warband will ever seek the Black Stone as worth the risk as there are to many factions who protect or hoard the material especially with the Mechanicus and the Necrons who know how to master the material and use it against Chaos.

Beautifully painted miniature on a kitchen table looks like a toy, but a cheap plastic army-men in a diorama looks like a soldier in his environment. The environment is always always more important than the. Character in any game, book, story!
Great entry, 100% agree about the terrain. I've had a fully painted board of terrain long before an army. I find it such a vital piece of the narrative and fun. Thanks for highlighting this Balder, I feel it's very important
Necromunda was my favorite game for scenery. We always had a 4-5 level structure in the middle with catwalks connecting everything. So many gangers suffered the injuries of falling off of it. Most extravagant scenery I have ever made was cutting a Baneblade in half, and making it look like it was freshly "lasered" in half. Even based it with a molten laser score on the ground between the two halves.
Man I once owned one of these cool models but sadly got rid of it due to financial need. You've really reignited my urge to get one again. Thank you so much 🙏😃
Terrian is one of the coolest things you can have on the table. After I've rounded out my Necrons I think i will make some tomb world terrian, thanks baldy!

Sounds like mini portabel warhammer fantasy portals. There is now way that som deamon isn't coming up with contrackts for essentially big fancy warp releys/Router. With an appropriate contrackt,and since the the eye of terror is a protecktion racked woever has the biggest stick wins. Were going to see som pretty nasty therms of service: And no Chaos is not in danger, if fore som reason purswasion deosnt work(read even catspawn ka`Bandha having made multipal insane plans and faild), Corn is just getting up and cousing a sudden change of intrest for all those who would rather dwiddel thaire thumps than couse a massacare to have a violent hart. So....
I’m sad they they took away the Crown’s invol save. Means less people are going to be taken these. I agree that more variety of terrain is what is missing in 40K now. It’s all just kinda generic right now.
And so, GW rips off yet another IP with outmost impunity... they didn't just copy the shape and arrangement of the Stargate for this, they didn't even bother to at least change the orientation of it...
Its an insult, another great and beloved IP sacrificed on the altar of woke! Boycott GW and fight for the lore, our hobby, and for fandom!
