Lyrics:
The time has come, we gotta expand, the whole operation
Distribution, New York, to Chicago, L.A.
We gotta set our own market, and enforce it
Champagne wishes of caviar dreams. A penis didn't cream.
With sales of fish scales from triple beams I gleam
Livin the live of rowdy packin fifty cali's
Rockin lizard Bally's while we do our drug deal in a dark alley
Up in casinos just me and my dino primo
Pushin beam-o's then parlay in Reno with two fly latinos
Nas, he runs the whole staff, we count mad for seen bad
We've seen a half a milli dashin out there on the Queens half
Three major players gettin papers by the layers
And those that portray us on the block get rocked like Domateus
Fakers get used to shootin targets, soon as the dark hits
Front on the drug market, bodies get rolled up in a carpet
Those that cheat us try to beat us we got hookers with heaters
That'll stray pop and put more shells in your top than Adidas
Da leaders, lookin straight crimy in our Giorgio Armani's
You wanna harm me and Nas you gots ta come get through a whole army
The celo rollers money folders sippin bola holdin mad payola
Slangin a Coke without the Cola
Me and black don't fake jacks but we might sling one
It ain't no shame in our game we do our thing son
Livin the fast life, in fast cars
Everywhere we go, people know who we are
A team from out of Queens with the american dream
So we're plottin up a scheme to get the seven figure cream
Who else playing this in 2024 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊

Kool G remains one of my favorite of all time.

You’re not wrong
Any good albums you can put me on? I've seen him for years in my real Giancana research.
Anybody who wants to hear a Kool G verse that you haven’t ever heard. He did a bonus track on Diabolic’s album Liar and a Thief back in 2010. Just type in “Diabolic cursed” and you’ll get it.

G Rap birthed Nas and Az. You can literally hear his influence in their flow and delivery.

The chipped tooth nas was nothing to play with🤯😤

Always even after he passes, living goats❤
Nas has the lyricism of Rakim, the awareness of Chuck D, the wordplay of Kool G Rap, the metaphors of Big Daddy Kane, the knowledge of KRSONE, the storytelling of Slick Rick, the longevity of LL Cool J and the versatility to do a great album with Damian Marley. And he sums it all up when he coined half man, half amazing!

I'm with you my brotha! They are definitely OG's! I was just using "kids" as an expression. Many of us were kids when listening to this jam when it came out back in 95'. Now many of us old school hip hop fans are over 50 and still enjoying the classic bangers! What I wouldn't give to be a kid again! Peace be with you my brotha!✌🏼@@DreAndre-ij9hr

Kool G Rap the inventor of Mafioso Rap imo, he may not of been the first but he was certainly close to being. He was the first in terms of what people class as mafioso rap today, He definitely elevated it to the Point of the sub genre being dominate in the 90s/ due to this he paved the way for Jay Z, Nas, Mobb Deep, Biggie, and many more. What a legend, doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Give them their 🌺 🌸 now whilst they’re still here.
Wow thun
Mobb deep and biggie were gangsta tho
crackhead Shan kool g rap was gangster and Jay z actually used to sell coke in New Jersey all the way to Virginia it’s documented by actual kingpins.

Nas got beasted by G. Rap on this track... and this is the same year, he killed "Verbal Intercourse" with Rae and Ghost.
Kory Green that's because g rap is and always will be an overlooked legend. dude is insane
You must be deaf, Nas held his own on his track, Kool G may of influenced Nas just like Rakim did but Nas has surpassed both at this point let's face it.
Slacker could not agree with you more
" I got gunz fr Italy, smoke trees considerably..." Esco came in hard.
🗣️🗣️🗣️
G Rap's rhyme-scheme on the first verse, my fucking god..
1. "Eam" (dreams, team, cream, gleam)
2. "Ali" (riley, calis, bally's, alley)
3. "Ino" (casinos, dino, primo, beam-o's, Reno, latinos)
4. "Aff" (staff, math, baths, half)
5. "Ay" (major, players, papers, layers, portray-us, Amadeus, fakers)
6. "Ar" (targets, dark-hits, market, carpet)
7. "E" (cheat-us, beat-us, heaters, Adidas, Da-leaders)
8. "Ar/Me" (Armani's, harm-me, army)
9. "Ol" (Cee-lo rollers, folders, Bolla, payola, Cola)
10. "Ack" (black, jacks)
11. "Ing" (Slanging, sling, thing)
12. "One" (one, son)
13. "Ame" (shame, game)
I probably missed many rhyme patterns but fuck it.
I’m with you
Rap lessons from the greatest, glooks
Fucking amazing
the thing is, he incorporated word play into too which blows my fucking mind the most
In the 2nd scheme he also rhymed "while we" with riley, calis, bally's and alley

They asked Nas in an interview if he ever felt like he got owned in one of his own songs. He said, once. In Fast Life. He said when he heard G. Raps verse there was nothing he could do to top it.

This whole song is a display of excellence. First and second verses are both incredible. Then when you think it can’t get any better they do the back and forth for the 3rd verse. Even the way they did the video and came down the stairs together for the 3rd verse is crazy. Plus the sample for the beat sounds lavish and it has a great chorus that emphasis that. This record is a all around 10/10. It’s not talked about enough.

this is one of nas best songs imo.. they had a great chemistry i think they should have done a whole album
I still remember in 06/07' I was bumping Illmatic - Lifes a bitch with the HS crew. Like Nas said in 06' "Hip hop...hip hop...is DEAD"
The background singer and chorus killed it

Nas needed to do it by 95 though. He was in his prime until then and once his voice got fucked up he was done.

Brad Piff Perhaps not a lisp, but an unusual way of pronouncing 's'. But I've never seen anything about it.
i don't think people, even to this day, realize how legendary this team up was, NAS and G RAP, two giants in the game coming through with an ill colabo, both shining on their own individual versus, but the magic comes through with the final verse setup, nas and kool g rap flowing back and forth off each other, its just not something you're going to find in modern times, this is truley a gem to be savoured from hip hops golden era, from the come up to the dream of the 'fast times' casino, this video and song lives in infamy, "GET THIS MONEY" still reigns supreme, peace to everyone still listening, the cream dream never stops, peace.
