Well, now.......where has THIS peach been my whole life? I thought I'd seen everything Laurel and Hardy ever did including Utopia. This was a very refreshing look at a Hollywood movie which made fun of Hollywood movies. I'd like to thank RUclips for bringing it to my attention.
Released 21 May 1937. Typical Fine Mess You've Gotten Us Into. The ONLY L&H film in which Finlayson appears without his prop mustache. The boys play a few bits. Still funny 87 years later...
Astor Pictures acquired the distribution rights to "Pick A Star", and reissued it as "Movie Struck" in 1954. Their theatrical posters exaggerated Stan & Ollie's participation in the film, suggesting THEY were the stars. I haven't seen this version since I had a VHS copy in the 1980's! 😃
Laurel and Hardy have two short skits in the film. This movie came out in 1937 under the title pick a star. It was re-released in 1954 oddly enough, as movie struck.

Are you broken? Just care about my Grand Children.
Theres that Intangeble something that makes Jack Haley so magnetic. Just nothing short of a fine actor.

You're welcome! Astor also reissued "The Devil's Brother" (1933) as "Bogus Bandits" that year.
Satirical Comedy at its Best!

❤😂❤😂❤😂✨💐😊✌️
Seems like the scene with Mr Laurel and Mr Hardy were outtakes from a film and Hal Roach just sold them to the makers of this turkey.
Hal Roach made this turkey.
Glarc Gable était le roi d Hollywood absolument pas d accord sur cette idée.
🙏❤🙏👍👏
6:37 Beta Male.
L & H don't make an appearance till 40 minutes in; not their greatest performance.
Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy in MOVIE STRUCK you deceived us,they played only two mins.
no more legend film
Thanks. I'll give it a miss. Most grateful. England, October, 2024.
