I think more people are actually more focused on discrepancies in Punk's words about certain events. If they do reveal the footage and it not only confirms that Punk got violent immediately but also even threw a punch, that is grounds to throw speculation into anything Punk has ever said or will say about his time in AEW at the very least? I do have those thoughts on Punk and I am very intrigued on what we'll see this week, whether this will be a giant swerve or the actual thing. The most stinging comments Punk made were that Tony isn't a real boss, AEW isn't a real business, and the allusions that they're not really in the pro wrestling business. So what's the operative idea? If it turns out Punk was not truthful or not correct about the confrontation with Jack Perry... what? That means Punk was wrong about everything? That's not how it works. Proving he deserved to be fired doesn't prove you're not mismanaging a company that's starting to sink.

His version of events is that he went to Tony, Tony didn't handle it in any way, and then there was a fight between him and Jungle Boy. He actually implied that he was the aggressor and choked Jungle Boy first. If he did more than he said, then all he is actually guilty of is downplaying his role in the fight. It does not disprove anything else he said that has not even been disputed by anyone. Like, what? Punk misrepresented his role in the fight, so that means Tony absolutely stepped in and tried to handle the situation with him and the Elite before All Out? That doesn't make sense.

How does TK think this footage will change anyone's opinion? Phil spoke on months of TK and his lackluster leadership and his inability and imcompetance to handle backstage issues that lead to Phil having a breaking point. It really doesn't matter at this point if he flew off the handle and tried to choke Jack Perry, something he doesn't at all deny. I think everyone, especially those that have worked in a work environment where leadership is toxic as fuck, understands where Phil is coming from and why this was his breaking point. I think some people aren't paying close attention to what Punk said in his MMA Hour Interview( including Dave and Bryan) because I don't really know what this will do for AEW in the end because the situation with Perry STARTED on Collusion, and ended at All In. If the goal here is to DISPROVE CM's punk's version of events, that ain't going to do you any good because when Punk shot down Perry's idea about using REAL glass they didn't IMMEDIATELY start fighting each other. Perry didn't make a stink out of it until the PPV. In the interview, Punk said he was 'calm' (Punk was calm) when the idea was initially shot down, but Punk clearly admitted to "choking" Perry out at All In, so what exactly are we trying to prove here? The most stinging comments Punk made were that Tony isn't a real boss, AEW isn't a real business, and the allusions that they're not really in the pro wrestling business. So what's the operative idea? If it turns out Punk was not truthful or not correct about the confrontation with Jack Perry... what? That means Punk was wrong about everything? That's not how it works. Proving he deserved to be fired doesn't prove you're not mismanaging a company that's starting to sink.

His version of events is that he went to Tony, Tony didn't handle it in any way, and then there was a fight between him and Jungle Boy. He actually implied that he was the aggressor and choked Jungle Boy first. If he did more than he said, then all he is actually guilty of is downplaying his role in the fight. It does not disprove anything else he said that has not even been disputed by anyone. Like, what? Punk misrepresented his role in the fight, so that means Tony absolutely stepped in and tried to handle the situation with him and the Elite before All Out? That doesn't make sense.
The only way it makes sense is if Perry washed Punk and kicked his ass or something. That would humiliate Punk. But since there isn't a single shred of evidence this happened, and no one (including Perry's own friends) have suggested such a thing happened, my guess the footage confirms much of what Punk said the other day. In which case....what's the point?

The bucks, page, or Jungle Boy, or better yet Tony Khan should all do interviews with Meltzer too if they really want to challenge Punk’s narrative of events. Using TV time in an attempt to bury someone who doesn’t even work for you anymore…kinda sounds like a valid reason why ratings are steadily declining in my opinion. I want AEW to succeed because it’s good for wrestling…but to me this just sounds incredibly sad.

WWE released those pics and video after the podcast dropped. Dave thinks he’s special Punk lied about the MRSA infection. There’s even a Sports Illustrated articles breaking down the trial. Aman lost because he couldn’t prove how the podcast had any impact on money, job status, reputation, future incline etc.
If the clip doesn’t have audio it will be incredibly difficult to disprove much of anything Punk said to Helwani unless he outright starts swinging on Perry.

I think some people aren't paying close attention to what Punk said in his MMA Hour Interview( including Dave and Bryan) because I don't really know what this will do for AEW in the end because the situation with Perry STARTED on Collusion, and ended at All In. If the goal here is to DISPROVE CM's punk's version of events, that ain't going to do you any good because when Punk shot down Perry's idea about using REAL glass they didn't IMMEDIATELY start fighting each other. Perry didn't make a stink out of it until the PPV. In the interview, Punk said he was 'calm' (Punk was calm) when the idea was initially shot down, but Punk clearly admitted to "choking" Perry out at All In, so what exactly are we trying to prove here? Is it just to give people a visual on what happened since everything is just based on hearsay? Why is AEW responding to things OUTSIDE of the current storylines going on in the product?
You can't call someone out on a lie when there are two different, but related events here. Punk literally admitted to fighting Perry, there is NOTHING that can disprove him shooting down the intial pitch for glass though.
If Jack Perry can use this to become a minted star, it will be a masterstroke.

I'll say that I'm a massive CM Punk fan. When all of this happened and TK feared for his life, I lost all respect for AEW. That being said... I think they should release the footage if they think that it will help repair their brand. I hope for their sake, it will make them look better and will prove all of us Punk fans wrong. But... Don't put this on your TV. Release it to the world, send it out to "media" outlets. Don't put it on TV. AEW has to stop catering to this niche internet audience. It comes across unprofessional. It's this kind of crap that draws me away from AEW. Not that I just love CM Punk. It's a waste of everyone's time to air this on national TV. Just my 2 cents.
