When I was like 3 or 4, she'd push this giant old ottoman in the center of our room, between the two twin beds, and she'd put the Beatles on, and I'd dance on the ottoman in my OshKosh overalls and a pair of yellow sunglasses with bunny rabbits on them at the corners. I really did think I was a preschool rock star. Pretty Odd reminds me of all of that.

Reading the replies to my comment has warmed my heart so much because I can truly tell that the new generation of fans embrace Panic! just as much as my friends and I did when I was their age. LIKE THAT WAS 10 YEARS AGO (if not more! ) It’s insane and I’m really happy to know that when I become a teacher kids are going to enjoy my generation of music.

Guys, as we are getting older a new generation is coming on the internet and they are now discovering this era of Panic! that we cherish and love, so don’t be mean. I told my mum about how Ryan wrote this song for Brendon and about how Brendon couldn't continue to perform this song during one of the V&V concerts because he was crying. Then after i was done telling her all about it, i looked at her while we were driving and she was crying... MY MUM WAS CRYING!!! which made me ask her "Mum why are you crying?" and she said "Because they use to be like best friends, now they aren't anymore! And it's so sad how something like a beautiful song can bring back so many memories and can make you just break down crying" ..... we both ended up crying for a good hour or so. :(

For years I have said Pretty Odd is my favorite album of all time. It still is. It is so beautiful and brilliantly crafted and I think it is timeless. It gets better upon every time I listen to it. This album contains my favorite lyrics Ryan has written. This lineup in Panic's history is so good and while I do listen to this album a lot, I don't always revisit the music videos as often as I should because they are so great and bring me such joy, but this one is extra special. Northern Downpour is such a beautiful, mesmerizing, and somewhat wistful song that reminds me that the world is not perfect but to keep on going. I find it to be a song of being present, mindful and appreciating life and what you have. (I know the world's a broken bone, but melt your headaches call it home). That's how I've felt about anyway. I wish Pretty Odd got more attention, love, and appreciation because it has been able to withstand the test of time so far (for me anyway) and I just know 50 years from now I'll still singing along....Hey moon, don't you go down...
I'm glad I've found someone with as much love as I have for Pretty. Odd. So many times I've tried to find more music that could bring me even a little bit of what PO did, and so many times I've been "disappointed". At the same time, this album is so unique and clear in its aesthetic and sound that I'm glad that there's nothing else like it out there. Makes it even more special to me.

I recommend Tally Hall's first album *Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum.* the first time I heard it, it reminded me so much of Pretty Odd

It probably has to do with the Seattle lore. On Ryan's 21st birthday he had a party at Pete Wentz's club in New York. (Brendon wasn't old enough to drink, so he couldn't go.) While all of this was happening Brendon was in Seattle. After the party Ryan went home with his girlfriend at the time, (I think that it was Keltie) but left in the middle of the night to go to Seattle (we know this, because a fan saw Brendon and Ryan together and asked for a picture). It is theorized that Ryan wrote Northern Downpour during this time for Brendon ("I missed your skin when you were east. You clicked your heels and wished for me"). There's more to it than that, but that's the gist of it.
