Fantastic job at organizing on a budget. I organized my mom's kitchen drawer with a dollar store file box about 4 years ago today. Neighbors and family thought it was brilliant and it is still in use today.
I personally make use of all the real estate in my home by hanging kitchen utensils on the back splash of the cook top. I also display my collections on the wall using twine and pushpins. I use colorful discarded milk crates for pots and pans in the kitchen and books. I use pretty items that I have collected as decoration. Just because my home is tiny doesn't mean it has to be ugly.
Thank you for wanting to share your organization tips with the public.. I'm very clean and organized but this is OCD! I don't even carry a third of those things in my purse don't even carry a purse most of the time wow!! Just my opinion but I think this is very extreme 🤯😜
My favorite tip is using the magazine files for storing the water bottles, I'm so tired of them shifting around in the cupboard - now I just need to find ones that are long taller than 10" ... might be a challenge!!!!
I just replaced my hairtie holder of carabiners and pcord with a chain. The idea came to me after the suggestion of the chain for hanging sunglasses. It looks soooo much better.
Wow there are a lot of useful ideas in this video. I'm not even a third of the way through and had to comment. So far the galvanized steel magnetic wall inside the cabinet door is my fave. Will be trying these on our upcoming move. Clutter free!
Great Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Mahorrla Control Clutter Method (search on google)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for decluttering your home minus the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.
Really good ideas here. I too found it a little difficult at times to hear what the presenter was saying but I got the picture for most of the ideas. Thanx for posting this.
Because you are one of the BEST, of the BEST. I'm writing to ask you a specific question. I just moved a few months ago. I am stuck at unpacking. Every thing I have to unpack also needs lots of purging , things I couldn't do when packing, due to the immediacy time element of having to move. Is there any suggestions you can offer me to use as a guide for this? I live alone and moved closer to family but in a MUCH Smaller place. Also, in the last few years I lost both my parents and my 2 best friends. I have NO help. Plus I need to organize all that stays. PLEASE CAN YOU SUGGEST ANYTHING, to help get me on track. I know this is alot to ask, and to understand. Are there any thoughts that come to your mind. Please help if you can. It would be so appreciated.
Sherrie Carr Look up Marie Kondo...she's great at figuring out how to do it...but maybe I can help you out with it as well. For starters on your projects...set up a keep box/area, a donate box/area, and a trash pile or bag. As you go through each box that you have to unpack, ask yourself if you have used the items in the last 6 months...if not and it's still in good condition place it in donate box/area. If it's not in good condition or is unusable then put in the trash bag/box. Next if you have used the item in the last 6 months, decide if you want/need to keep it...or if you have more than one of the item...can you donate the extra item to friends or other organizations. Once you have figured out where each item fits...either keep, donate, or trash...then proceed immediately with getting the trash out of the house and actually donate to Goodwill or other locations immediately...doing this will be helpful to know what items you actually still have to find places to store in. Use the tips from the video to help put those items away. Hope this helps
Use 3 goodwill mesh file boxes $2.99 ea connected w binder clips. 1 plastic bags (not folded) 1 foil, parchment, wax paper. 1 paper bags. Nicer then the dishpan I was using
The purse organizers are great and I have them. But they don't cost over $20. I've found them in odd stores for around $10, but I got 3 for less than $10 on eBay.
I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN I WOULD LOVE IT WHEN SHE SPECIFICALLY SAID "METICULOUS". THAT'S ME! THIS IS A TREAT FOR MY OCD. SCREAMING WITH DELIGHT!!! 🗣️
Felt like this entire video just showed beautiful homes with tips that wouldn't work with normal drawers in a normal person's home. Don't get me wrong some of the tips were okay, but a good portion of them just aren't practical to apply to a home that isn't custom built. Like the tip with the pantry, for most family's that would require a kitchen renovation or at least a couple hundred dollars of supplies.
Wow I found this so helpful I’ve been living in my house for 48 years so I have accumulated lots of crap so I’m trying to organize and purge two husbands one died and 5 kids later plus all the stragelars my husband would bring
Folding plastic grocery bags? Ain't nobody got time fo dat. I take mine back to Walmart for recycling, and the few that I do keep get stuffed into an empty tissue box.
Yes minimal is the answer for peace and spare time for yourself!! look at all the time that it takes to organize just to have all this stuff!!! To much 😜🤯
Minalmalist are boring, have no hobbies, hate to think and bore me silly. Just being honest. I have projects. I am always working on something and I think. I have books that are non-fiction that the library won't carry, that I actually read! I also do theological studies, learn languages, play games, play instruments. I just don't sit there staring at tv and then go for walks and talk.
ok so id like to see u declutter a family who lives in a 10 by 20 foot bedroom w king bed and has about less than half space to use in the kitchen and fridge areas
Love a lot of these ideas! But the makeup storage in the drawers says to use dollar store thick poster board? That's definitely not PB...looks like plastic to me. And if it is PB, that would take at least a month to create!
Beth D we use ours (hole free of course) for cat litter. We scoop clumps and put the filled bags into the plastic containers the litter came in and close the lid until the container is full. Double recycling that way.
Karyn Haines I like your idea about the cat litter. Our cat pees standing up with her pee shooting straight out. Ugh! I DO NOT know why she pees like this😖 I have to use a plastic storage bin for a cat box. Anyway, I use the bags to put her poop in. I think I'll purchase a plastic bin to put the poop bags in. Is that what you do? How long can you keep the poop bags in the plastic container before they smell? Can you smell them through the container? I get tired of having to throw the poop bags outside daily. Sorry this is so long.
@grateful1929 we use the large Tidy Cat container that recloses like a cereal container.. we have four litter boxes for four cats and trash is picked up once a week. I scoop into the store grocery bags and tie shut and then dump into them into the Today Cat container. If I don't get them outside...no worries. There is room for more until the following week. We use Arm and Hammer pet powder in the litter boxes to control litter smell as well. Our boxes are in the basement so that helps and my sniffer isn't the best but we don't have to scoop all the time and the resealed obtainer keeps the smell contained inside of it.
Consider slowing down the video & audio so that we can see, read as well as absorb information. Then make several of these videos. Information is great but goes too fast.
It takes seconds to fold and they are more easily accessible. It's about discipline and it carries into other areas of your home and life. I fold mine and place them in empty lysol containers. I used to use kleenex boxes and it got wet in my car- had to toss all my bags and the box away. It really makes you feel on top of things, for even the little details of life to be in place. Hope that helped😃
So like I'm all for down sizing but I just can't get rid of anything that still has a price tag on it. I use to give everything away and buy new stuff each time a relationship does not work out. Well I stopped doing that after trying to save up for a home in my dream location. So now unless I am gifting the item or returning it to the store, I just won't let go of anything new, even if I don't use it. It has stopped me from buying things I don't need and now I force myself to re organize everything I own every quarter to remind myself I still have a whole lot of STUFF. Like why buy a $600 security system when I just gave away a $500 system...Stupid I Know.
You get most of those things on the Dollar store and ikea...which sucks when you don't have that on your country and those things are not that cheap. The ideas were good, but i see you need space or your own house to make those things.
Most of these "solutions" are not DIY or affordable. Built in cabinets with lazy susans on foldable doors and closet organizers run around $100 hardly affordable and marble topped pull out island builtbto slide into larger kitchen cabinets.
Thanks for a great video full of gems for my home! Liked her tips, but Melissa's pace was too slow compared to the rest of your video, and her information was far too wordy for me. Get to the point and move on to the next to please! Keep up the great work on this easy-to-love channel.
Love the idea of using a magazine file box to stack water bottles in. Thanks!
Magazine holders for water bottles a very good idea

These are some great ideas thank you. My medicine cabinet has no shelving the metal sheeting give me an awesome idea thank you so much
All the viedo above are wonderful...the dollar tree is very helpful to all the things to help you to organize.
My favorite tip is using the magazine files for storing the water bottles, I'm so tired of them shifting around in the cupboard - now I just need to find ones that are long taller than 10" ... might be a challenge!!!!
I like the tension rods in the kitchen drawers for Tupperware lids and bottoms
Velcro bins in drawers is a great idea.
O
I just replaced my hairtie holder of carabiners and pcord with a chain. The idea came to me after the suggestion of the chain for hanging sunglasses. It looks soooo much better.
I also put all my saran wrap, aluminum foil, was paper etc in a magazine file - #31
Wow there are a lot of useful ideas in this video. I'm not even a third of the way through and had to comment. So far the galvanized steel magnetic wall inside the cabinet door is my fave. Will be trying these on our upcoming move. Clutter free!

For the wire fruit basket to be used long-term in a bathroom - you may want to treat it with Rustoleum first to prevent any water damage.
Your videos are inspiring that I decided to make one of my own!🙃
Really good ideas here. I too found it a little difficult at times to hear what the presenter was saying but I got the picture for most of the ideas. Thanx for posting this.
Great video! I just purchased the under the bathroom cabinet bins but they're from Container Store. Love them!!
one suggestion was represented twice....
having plates / bowls on top of a peg board in a drawer with rods to keep things stacked neatly.
I LOOOVE Melissa Maker!!!
This ideas are very clever!

Wow I found this so helpful I’ve been living in my house for 48 years so I have accumulated lots of crap so I’m trying to organize and purge two husbands one died and 5 kids later plus all the stragelars my husband would bring
My husband would bring home so I have a mess any suggestions on where to start I’m very overwhelmed
You can get the bag organiser on the app wish for around €3 better than 20 something 🙂
Folding plastic grocery bags? Ain't nobody got time fo dat.
I take mine back to Walmart for recycling, and the few that I do keep get stuffed into an empty tissue box.
Thank you, same here lol!

ikr?? must be a kid free house!
I put them in an old backpack
It doesn't take long.... from mum with three kids
Wow! I love it!!!!
Have a huge cupboard, put 2 artisan pegs in it and a doily
I wish my house was so big it could house empty cupboards
Learn to go without and you won't have to organize. Become a minimalist.
Yes minimal is the answer for peace and spare time for yourself!!
look at all the time that it takes to organize just to have all this stuff!!! To much 😜🤯

flipping shelves could cause problems the bottom part helps it support more weight by flipping it over you limit how much it can hold. becareful
thank your for your advice. Appreciate it 👍
ok so id like to see u declutter a family who lives in a 10 by 20 foot bedroom w king bed and has about less than half space to use in the kitchen and fridge areas
me too, they always declutter big houses with lots of space. I have a small home and 90% of the stuff I own I need.
+Ashley Faulkner i know right sadly they dont reply to this comment or say anything about smaller homes
there are plenty of tiny home organization videos and resources. use google.
Toothbrushes need to be out to air dry, won't they mildew in a drawer?
You have a very nice voice, did you ever work on tv news channels?
Love a lot of these ideas! But the makeup storage in the drawers says to use dollar store thick poster board? That's definitely not PB...looks like plastic to me. And if it is PB, that would take at least a month to create!
You can use plastic store bags as wastebasket liners.
I do that as well, I can't remember the last time I had to buy trash bags - such a money saver!!!
Beth D we use ours (hole free of course) for cat litter. We scoop clumps and put the filled bags into the plastic containers the litter came in and close the lid until the container is full. Double recycling that way.

I hope this link will help ruclips.net/video/IjyNef1mabY/видео.html

who has time to fold a million plastic bags every weekend? lol! Not me:) good idea in theory though
Hollies Hobbies, at 10 cents a bag in California, you make time!
Who uses a million plastic bags every weekend?

The problem is that I don't even have big bottom kitchen drawers to store plates & stuff.
Frances Walker Same here!
lol those purse organizers are more than twice the size of my purse.
You can easily use makeup pouches/makeup bags too. I do it for my purses.
Where can I ger the rack to stack tge bathroom towels on? Love it!

Phalon Walker they clearly sleep in the kitchen lol
Phalon Walker ME TOO!
Wow, you talk really fast! Without the subs, I wouldn't have the slightest chance to follow. :)
do you have anything to organize books and paper
Most of these "solutions" are not DIY or affordable. Built in cabinets with lazy susans on foldable doors and closet organizers run around $100 hardly affordable and marble topped pull out island builtbto slide into larger kitchen cabinets.
You can use marble contact paper for a DIY that looks almost like the real thing. That's probably what they did tbh.
All these decluttering things make your house more cluttered!!
Yes, organization, just rudimentary would be aboutv$200.00!
I disagree Apples Dust there were several I will be adding to an apartment in assisted living
No.5 takes you to the site but they no longer carry that purse organizer. Especially not for one for 26 bucks. They start at $54.
