OMG...I have been watching you for years. I am 60 now, a woman, and worked building custom homes (helped) was a manager in large lumber yard in my early 20's, I loved it...love watching you and your projects immensely 💕💞🌹🌹
Thank you for taking the time to show most of the “little things” that turn into big headaches for DIYers. Thank you April for another great series of videos.
This is coming from an old finish carpenter (27 yrs of experience...), You did an AMAZING outdoor kitchen/rec platform area, ....... You should be extremely PROUD of a job WELL done .... "Thank You" as always for sharing it with us !!
April Been watching your videos since your garage shop days. You have actually helped me get my passion back for woodworking. This project turned out perfect!! You have such a wonderful group of supporters and family. Looking forward to the next project!! God Bless you kid!!
Great project and results! Being in the trades for almost 50 years I find the energy and detail you put into everything you very motivating. You take on every challenge and just run with it. Wish there were more young people like you to keep the trades moving.
Great job April. Although you had a lot of good people helping you also. Your work is outstanding and always turns out beautiful. You're absolutely right about having a plan before beginning. Hope you enjoy your new outside area for many years to come.
Hola April, té saludo desde Chile 🇨🇱. Que gran video. Cómo se cambia un lugar en un bosque, un jardín, lo que tú quieras hacer. Pero los más importante es disfrutar lo que tú haces. Gracias April saludos 😍🤝🇨🇱
This is an impressive mid-size project. I have 5 daughters. So to see a woman not only managing this project, but also very much, "hands-on" everything. We're impressed. You're on the roof, driving the heavy machinery, nailing and cutting trees, etc. You had the vision, combined with your drive, hard work, and your small team = SUCCESS. Way to go!
I love what you are producing, not overly explained yet very well informed! I'm constantly taking mental notes on products and how to use them for their longest life
Doesn't matter what you are doing. It's always interesting, worthwhile and FUN to watch! Love your energy, enthusiasm and your honesty when you mess up. You're a Treasure! You had 50k subs when I joined the party. Thank you April!
Well Ms April let me tell you I have been watching you for years and enjoy your video's very much. I love the fact that you are not afraid to show the mistakes (no matter how few) along with all of the good as it helps me the weekend diy'er not feel as bad when i measure twice and still cut it too short. You willingness to tackle anything is inspiring! You share the facts and then walk thru them in your video's very well. The skill you have gained over the time I have been watching gives me hope of becoming the builder that i want to be. Thank you for the common sense approach and showing the whole process. This kitchen is fantastic! Great job!!!
I love watching all of your builds. Also, I appreciate you pointing out what you learned and that your inexperience at a skill didnt stop u from accomplishing it. Bravo, April!
Awesome 👍 April, love your style. Built an outdoor kitchen with pavilion with hot water on demand heater, frig, wine cooler, grill and bar for six, also added an outdoor shower seeing it was all built next to our 15,000 gallon in ground pool. All inside a 24 x 48 ft screened in area. A must for Florida living at it's best!! Always enjoy your videos
What I do when one of my favorite RUclipsrs starts a big project in a few parts, I watch the first video and come back later to binge-watch the whole show haha. I am amazed at how beautiful, luxurious and useful the space looks and I bet so many parties and casual lunches will take place here. I bet it would be amazing to sit and relax during a little rainstorm with the fire going on. You are just the best April. Lovely videos!
I love it! This series is amazing! Watching it, inspired me. I am working on building a garden shed and I am trying to figure out my plans, dimension, etc. But, seeing this outdoor kitchen, really helps me believe that I can do this! I will build an outdoor kitchen someday and hopefully, I can build it by this series. Thank you for always inspiring us builders and DIYers!!!
I have enjoyed your journey since very early on, close to or if not the beginning. I met you and Matt Cremona at the woodworking expo in Las egas and you impressed me with your can do attitude and approach. Keep up doing whatever you set out to do. I have faith in you!
Hi April - I work in IT and I'm currently working on a big project for my company and it's so daunting because of how new and complex it is. I really liked what you said at the start of the video about not giving in to the anxiety of doing big project, the advice is really helpful!
Oh, the envy. Sunday morning brunches with an omelette bar, a bit of acoustic music, hungry friends, warm coffee, lots of laughter. That build will gain a Spirit of its Own.
I think the space is terrific. I also think your attitude is so positive and fun in the face of the obstacles you run into. Keep it up. Also, resourcefulness is good, but flexibilty is a beautiful thing!
I don’t know what it is about your videos, your narration, your woodworking skills, the final end results but they are always so interesting!! Keep up the good work love!💕💕
Yes, enjoy the oudoor kitchen build a lot. I am going to be doing one very soon and i love some of the ideas of things you can do to make it look good and how to do them. Enjoy your kitchen.
Thanks for sharing this insightful video series. Although perfect for Texas and southwest locations, limited season use in Great Lakes’ states. However, as an educational tool this series is wonderful. I covered our “barn” using the same roofing materials. It has held up well through heat and cold but it is not impervious to determined tree rats (squirrels). I was surprised that you didn’t use an IBC tote for water retention. You are an impressive craftsperson with an artistic style and excellent educator presence. You should be teaching. Wishing you and your team and family another blessed week. Thanks April.
Hi April this is the sweetest summer kitchen I’ve ever seen! I can’t believe you did it all when wood prices were the highest they have ever been! Great job!!! I will be doing Up some of those barstools once I get retired and settled in northern Ontario . We would be happy to host you and your team for some great fishing . Still a year out but we are looking for the perfect patch of land on a lake and a April size workshop
Great job AW 👍! The whole deck, kitchen, fireplace and the roofing looks amazingly beautiful! Maybe the next project is turning the deck in to a sunroom with lots of windows and maybe ad motorized retractable screens to keep the bugs out 😇👍. Excellent job!
I have followed you for quite some time now since you only had a tiny shed shop. I have always loved your attitude and willingness to tackle anything. This build is just another, although a lot larger in a long line of awesome projects. Keep up the wonderful attitude and can't wait to see where it leads you next!
Thank you April for this build series. I never would have thought to do some of the things you did. After seeing the whole series it made sense why you did things ahead of time. IE drilling the holes in the ceiling joist ahead of time.
Very nice job April you sure do thing’s big yes when you are a joiner you can build anything it’s been great watching you do all your projects well done 👍 👏👏👏 stay safe
Apart from your new place, this is the biggest project to date . Love it , so well thought of. Super happy for you. Very motivated by your energy as usual.
Loved the series. We're kicking around putting something small in our back yard and this gave me a few ideas. We're up north so water is an unlikely addition.
April, I have been watching your videos since you made some kind of shelf in your last house. I am amazed at all you have accomplished. Keep on doing what you do. I haven't seen one video of yours that I haven't liked. Timothy.
Thank you LOVED!!! This series. My wife and I are moving into the Dallas area and looking to do a outdoor kitchen also in our backyard. Gave us some good ideas. Now the fun part of getting quote as we can tackle something ourselves and other we'l have to get some "experts" to do for us. Thank you again.
This has been my favorite series since the shop build...I love seeing big projects come together, especially when they're things that you're going to utilize constantly. Maybe your next project should be a pool? Then a pool house to go with it. Heck, just build a mini-resort on your property ;)
Hi April! This series (and your videos) are great! I think it would be really great for budding builders like me, who make mistakes without realizing it, if you did a follow up if you find something that needs to be changed with the space? That way we can also learn from you how to fix things that we didn't realize were wrong at the time (I'm always super worried of not doing something right and not knowing what to do after the fact!).
This series was so good for me, because my wife and I are buying a new forever oceanfront home, and the most important aspect of the property for me next to the humongous multi-trade shop is my outdoor kitchen, living area, pool, lazy river and playing fields area. Well, the lazy river and playing fields my have to wait till the grandkids get here. This series was in valuable for me. Even though I’ve had a 45 yr. career in construction it was a different form.
I really enjoyed watching this series. Also I have referred a few friends to watch also. They are starting wood working and I think you are the best teacher.
Fantastic series, April! While I loved seeing the progressing build, the best was seeing you, family and friends finally enjoying it. I'm not sure how long I've been watching your channel (since before you moved) and have always enjoyed it. I've showed a few episodes to my wife and we also loved seeing you on Some Assembly Required (hoping for more episodes!). I truly like that you vary your projects from Whiskey Top Displays to massive outdoor Kitchens. I'm sure you receive billions of suggestions, but I have an idea for a series: Suburban Shop Plan. I live in a subdivision and have a small 6,230 sq. ft. lot (about 52' wide and 120' deep). The house and attached two-car garage takes up a great deal of the lot (your outdoor kitchen is probably more square footage than our 28'x52' backyard). Due to lack of space (and HOA restrictions) building a workshop in the back yard is not an option. So I'd love a series on taking a 2-car garage and designing/laying out a basic workshop that can be "folded away" or otherwise stowed so that, when not in use, you can still get two standard cars into it. This would be for someone who's just starting weekend DIYing, so recommendations on basic tools and supplies would also be requisite. I'll never have the huge amount of property nor achieve DIYing on the scale you have. But I'd still love to be able to make some book cases, cabinet organizers, cutting boards, bird house, a picnic table or other smaller stuff. My limit is a 20x20 space with a 11' ceiling. I'm sure many suburbanites are similarly limited. Just a thought... Wishing you and your family and friends all the best! And looking forward to your next video! :)
Stop creating more on a whim than I've ever done in my life with this God Power of yours! :) Your videos are amazing. Just 5 years ago you were pouring a concrete slab and not minding the errors of being a first timer, and that led to so many views, that you're now able to build this!!! Though I'm intimidated by my own big dreams of construction, your words are just as inspiring as your deeds, Madame. More than that: You, alone, make videos that make construction seem possible and undaunting. No longer will I be proud that I simply cooked breakfast or something. I can do it!! ...I can do it!!
April, I have absolutely loved the Outdoor Kitchen project and series. I think I have learned a whole lot watching the series but still I am very intimidated on such a huge project. It is absolutely beautiful, well done. Great ideas 💡 from watching the series. I look forward to the fire pit project. Keep up the GREAT work!
Having watched your channel from very early on, I'm jealous of your success and in the same breath can say you earned it. As far as I can see, you were never handed this financial ability to do such large projects, and have worked for it. With that said, my jealousy is not spiteful as you earned where you are now. Well done and enjoy what hard work has brought you.
I've followed this build all the way through. What an amazingly fun and functional project. It really gets me thinking about the next project I'll be doing. Keep up the good work, y'all!
The Outdoor Kitchen was awesome and all those details need to be in my back yard! Now I have to get a back yard; don't those come attached to something else? I see what you mean about cost escalations! Great work and concept, April! FR
You're a smart cookie. I love watching your videos. You are a critical thinker and very competent builder and project manager. I also like the way you describe how you don't let the fact you don't know how to do something and park the fact you have that task coming up until you need to think about it. That's how I operate and It's how you grow your skill sets. I haven't taken on builds to your level yet but I'm working up to it. I look forward to seeing future videos and what your creativity brings
Yes April, I really enjoyed this series. In fact all of your videos are a great balance of knowledge, education, options in how to, entertainment and humor. All while giving great tools and product reviews and the icing on the cake, that infectious smile and wave at the end of each video! :)
You’re just amazing, for inspiring people and showing that learning is actually easy and one should not be afraid of the unknown. Keep it up!
Turn the sling mistake into an asset and hang some sky chairs off the slings!
That's called turning an Oooopps into an asset ....... just sayin' ....... ;-p
Love how you left the hoop straps on -- they will make for a fun story indeed.
Yes! That's what I thought too. No one is every too big to not make mistakes. Adds to the Story. Thanks for watching.
Adds character to a masterpiece!
OMG...I have been watching you for years. I am 60 now, a woman, and worked building custom homes (helped) was a manager in large lumber yard in my early 20's, I loved it...love watching you and your projects immensely 💕💞🌹🌹

What a beautiful recap! The out-takes at the end are the best! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Love your willingness to jump in, learn, fail, recover, and keep moving! Great reminder for me!
Thanks! Glad you enjoy my Channel. Thanks for watching.

Really enjoyed the entire series, April. To the point, without extraneous words. Tough to find. Nice to not hear. Great job. Keep it up!

April, I am really impressed with how far you have some as a builder, RUclipsr and entrepreneur. If I were wearing a hat it would off for you.
Thanks! Glad you are still along for the ride. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for sharing the psychological parts of tackling a big build (or anything new). The kitchen is beautiful.
Hi April - I work in IT and I'm currently working on a big project for my company and it's so daunting because of how new and complex it is. I really liked what you said at the start of the video about not giving in to the anxiety of doing big project, the advice is really helpful!

Love how far you have come over the years. Hard work does it every time April and you have that push. Congrats, great kitchen.

Thank you for your support and for watching. Yes, it will truly be a wonderful place building great memories.
I laughed out loud with your happy dance after cutting that tree down. I guess you could call this massively beautiful.
I think the space is terrific.
I also think your attitude is so positive and fun in the face of the obstacles you run into.
Keep it up.
Also, resourcefulness is good, but flexibilty is a beautiful thing!
Yes! Thank you!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoy my videos. Thanks for watching.
Great! Just finished building my outdoor kitchen and wondering how to structure my video. This was informative and light to watch
The outdoor kitchen is absolutely fantastic. Might I suggest some lattice around the bottom of the deck... I "might" have a video for that!
Yes, enjoy the oudoor kitchen build a lot. I am going to be doing one very soon and i love some of the ideas of things you can do to make it look good and how to do them. Enjoy your kitchen.

I really enjoyed your inspirational messages about how to break through mental barriers to achieving something beyond your skill set
Thanks! I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching.
Hi April this is the sweetest summer kitchen I’ve ever seen! I can’t believe you did it all when wood prices were the highest they have ever been! Great job!!! I will be doing
Up some of those barstools once I get retired and settled in northern Ontario . We would be happy to host you and your team for some great fishing . Still a year out but we are looking for the perfect patch of land on a lake and a April size workshop
I love this, I am dreaming is having an out door kitchen. This is like someone read my mind and made it happen. Amazing work.
What a beautiful outdoor kitchen & outside gathering place.
THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU LOVE AND SHARING IT WILL THE WORLD TO INSPIRE TO DO AND BE BETTER!!
That’s an awesome space so glad you’ve been able to keep building even with all this rain we’ve been getting
Awesome! Thank you!
As with all of your "project" FANTASIC! Would like to see a summer update on the garden.
Thank you April for this build series. I never would have thought to do some of the things you did. After seeing the whole series it made sense why you did things ahead of time. IE drilling the holes in the ceiling joist ahead of time.

Bravissima Donna con una grande competenza lavorativa.
Sono rimasto incantato...ciao.
Apart from your new place, this is the biggest project to date . Love it , so well thought of. Super happy for you. Very motivated by your energy as usual.
Absolutely beautiful. Congrats on completing the project!
Loved the series. We're kicking around putting something small in our back yard and this gave me a few ideas. We're up north so water is an unlikely addition.
I’ve enjoyed this series and am looking forward to more. You should try to do something with This Old House. That would be very good to watch.
Great series, great result. Had fun watching this project. What's next? Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.
The build was great, the series was great. April is cool af, I’m glad to see her doing so well!

@@AprilWilkerson want to do some pro bono work? 😏
Girlfriend and I loved the series. And we are very jealous of the new kitchen.
I would love 💘❤ to see an underground Bunker. 🚇 Great Job and inspiration to many women especially myself .

Only one word here : AWESOME! It’s giving me ideas for the backyard!!
This and the chicken coop videos are my favorites, and the out takes were nice too!❤ Thank you and God Bless you and your family!

Half of me is from Texas . (father met mom while he was at boot camp , near Tyler) LOVE your kitchen , deck, entertainment island.
I'm from Texas. My daughter's dad was from Tennessee. I used to tell him that she was half Texan, and Texan is the dominant gene! He was not amused.
Very cool build, very real thought out presentation and LOVE the straps being left. Honest all the way.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
Love the space. Love that you did it yourself with some help from friends.
Yes, I do as much as I can by myself but sometimes need a 2nd or even a 3rd hand. My Employees are the greatest. Thanks for watching.
My sister told me I’m able to do things than I should be able to. You’re way ahead of me and you give me inspiration!
Awesome! Thanks!
Having watched your channel from very early on, I'm jealous of your success and in the same breath can say you earned it. As far as I can see, you were never handed this financial ability to do such large projects, and have worked for it. With that said, my jealousy is not spiteful as you earned where you are now. Wow, thank you! I appreciate your kind words. Thank you for watching and staying along for the ride. :)
Absolutely loved this project!!! Thanks so much for sharing all your ideas, and process’s for doing thins!!!!
This series was great. I really enjoyed following along with the whole building process. Very inspiring, too.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job! I have a project less fancy and on a smaller scale in my future plan. Great to see you again. Thanks
This was an amazing series. Learned some new tricks as far as low voltage wiring and rain water collection. Can't wait until the next build.

Yes April, I did enjoy this series. Especially the decking. Such detailed explanations were very helpful.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The Outdoor Kitchen was awesome and all those details need to be in my back yard! Now I have to get a back yard; don't those come attached to something else? I see what you mean about cost escalations! Great work and concept, April! FR
WOW...absolutely stunning. Loved the series! Enjoy your build🥂
Thank you so much for your kind words. Thanks for watching.

I think I'd spend all day out there! Such an amazing build and I loved the videos along the way
Yes April, I really enjoyed this series. In fact all of your videos are a great balance of knowledge, education, options in how to, entertainment and humor. All while giving great tools and product reviews and the icing on the cake, that infectious smile and wave at the end of each video! :)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the Series. Thanks for watching.
