This is an impressive mid-size project. I have 5 daughters. So to see a woman not only managing this project, but also very much, "hands-on" everything. We're impressed. You're on the roof, driving the heavy machinery, nailing and cutting trees, etc. You had the vision, combined with your drive, hard work, and your small team = SUCCESS. Way to go!

Well Ms April let me tell you I have been watching you for years and enjoy your video's very much. I love the fact that you are not afraid to show the mistakes (no matter how few) along with all of the good as it helps me the weekend diy'er not feel as bad when i measure twice and still cut it too short. You willingness to tackle anything is inspiring! You share the facts and then walk thru them in your video's very well. The skill you have gained over the time I have been watching gives me hope of becoming the builder that i want to be. Thank you for the common sense approach and showing the whole process. This kitchen is fantastic! Great job!!!

Thanks for sharing this insightful video series. Although perfect for Texas and southwest locations, limited season use in Great Lakes’ states. However, as an educational tool this series is wonderful. I covered our “barn” using the same roofing materials. It has held up well through heat and cold but it is not impervious to determined tree rats (squirrels). I was surprised that you didn’t use an IBC tote for water retention. You are an impressive craftsperson with an artistic style and excellent educator presence. You should be teaching.
Wishing you and your team and family another blessed week. Thanks April.

Hi April! This series (and your videos) are great! I think it would be really great for budding builders like me, who make mistakes without realizing it, if you did a follow up if you find something that needs to be changed with the space? That way we can also learn from you how to fix things that we didn't realize were wrong at the time (I'm always super worried of not doing something right and not knowing what to do after the fact!).

This series was so good for me, because my wife and I are buying a new forever oceanfront home, and the most important aspect of the property for me next to the humongous
multi-trade shop is my outdoor kitchen, living area, pool, lazy river and playing fields area. Well, the lazy river and playing fields my have to wait till the grandkids get here. This series was in valuable for me. Even though I’ve had a 45 yr. career in construction it was a different form.

Fantastic series, April! While I loved seeing the progressing build, the best was seeing you, family and friends finally enjoying it. I'm not sure how long I've been watching your channel (since before you moved) and have always enjoyed it. I've showed a few episodes to my wife and we also loved seeing you on Some Assembly Required (hoping for more episodes!). I truly like that you vary your projects from Whiskey Top Displays to massive outdoor Kitchens.
I'm sure you receive billions of suggestions, but I have an idea for a series: Suburban Shop Plan. I live in a subdivision and have a small 6,230 sq. ft. lot (about 52' wide and 120' deep). The house and attached two-car garage takes up a great deal of the lot (your outdoor kitchen is probably more square footage than our 28'x52' backyard). Due to lack of space (and HOA restrictions) building a workshop in the back yard is not an option. So I'd love a series on taking a 2-car garage and designing/laying out a basic workshop that can be "folded away" or otherwise stowed so that, when not in use, you can still get two standard cars into it. This would be for someone who's just starting weekend DIYing, so recommendations on basic tools and supplies would also be requisite.
I'll never have the huge amount of property nor achieve DIYing on the scale you have. But I'd still love to be able to make some book cases, cabinet organizers, cutting boards, bird house, a picnic table or other smaller stuff. My limit is a 20x20 space with a 11' ceiling. I'm sure many suburbanites are similarly limited. Just a thought...
Wishing you and your family and friends all the best! And looking forward to your next video! :)

Your videos are amazing. Just 5 years ago you were pouring a concrete slab and not minding the errors of being a first timer,
and that led to so many views, that you're now able to build this!!! Though I'm intimidated by my own big dreams of construction, your words are just as inspiring as your deeds, Madame.
More than that: You, alone, make videos that make construction seem possible and undaunting. No longer will I be proud that I simply cooked breakfast or something. I can do it!! ...I can do it!!

As far as I can see, you were never handed this financial ability to do such large projects, and have worked for it. With that said, my jealousy is not spiteful as you earned where you are now. This was an amazing series. Learned some new tricks as far as low voltage wiring and rain water collection. Can't wait until the next build.

The Outdoor Kitchen was awesome and all those details need to be in my back yard! Now I have to get a back yard; don't those come attached to something else? I see what you mean about cost escalations! Great work and concept, April! FR

You're a smart cookie. I love watching your videos. You are a critical thinker and very competent builder and project manager. I also like the way you describe how you don't let the fact you don't know how to do something and park the fact you have that task coming up until you need to think about it. That's how I operate and It's how you grow your skill sets. I haven't taken on builds to your level yet but I'm working up to it.
I look forward to seeing future videos and what your creativity brings

Yes April, I really enjoyed this series. In fact all of your videos are a great balance of knowledge, education, options in how to, entertainment and humor. All while giving great tools and product reviews and the icing on the cake, that infectious smile and wave at the end of each video! :)
