    Hi, I'm Christan Long:
I grew up 2 days walk from the nearest road at Gorge River in a remote part of South Westland. Due to our remoteness, we are known as New Zealand's most isolated family. Over the years we have been asked hundreds of questions about our lives and in this video, I answer some of them along with some questions that you guys have had on this channel. It's not just me though, I will be directing some questions towards Mum, Dad, and Robin too! If you have any more questions please comment below. I have other videos from home as well! Huge thanks to my family for being a part of this video.
In this video, Christan Long welcomes everyone to Gorge River in front of his home to answer the most asked question about his life and his family. His dad came here in 1980 and has been living here for 38 years. Someone also wants to know how many times Christan Long came here in a year. So he came home to the Gorge River once or twice a year. But lives here for 4 weeks or sometimes he stays a little longer. He likes to spend a good few months here each year. It is an amazing playground where he can do so many things like- hiking, hunting, fishing, surfing, etc...
    Also Watch:
Flight to Antarctica, Christchurch to McMurdo Sound: • Flight to Antarctica |...
There are so many questions about Christan Long's life and his family. How they live in a place which is so remote and how they earn money here. Basically, his dad is an artist. He paints oil on canvas. It is his main income. Also, someone wants to know how he completed his school by living here. He actually completed his study by homeschooling.

From my husband Alex Douglas who was two years behind your dad Bob at medical school and at Gregory Terrace. He said to tell your dad "I have very fond memories of you and assorted friends and brothers and sisters of mutual friends. My wife Susie knew Vivienne before she passed away. It was so good to see what you have done with your lives. Our son John is a friend of your nephew. I had not been aware of your life at Gorge River. You should know that you are missed by your friends very much. The first video we watched is very inspiring. Love and best wishes to you and your family. Alexander PS You always had a great sense of humour Bob. You and Mark Landy were a great pair!

You are very right! Its actually changed in about 2009 when I went to school. Suddenly i was no longer the poor kid being bought up in the middle of nowhere and became the lucky guy who grew up in a unique place.

    Christan!
You are a natural at talking head videos :-) Very well done.
I gave you a massive cuppa tea at Hidden Falls Hut in summer of 2010-11. You were aged about 18 with your female friend from Rosco's. Next day you disappeared into the mist, climbing up Barrington Peak in heavy Fiordland rain. I managed to walk the Hollyford-pyke circuit in 8 days solo, with assistance from Bruce Reay in his IRB 😃
    Will keep following your adventures!

They thought your Dad is crazy for choosing to live on an island and isolate himself and his family but for me it's the best thing to do, your father is actually intelligent. If only my parents did this as well maybe I am mentally stable, i mean the City is making me more anxious and it triggers me so much. If only i was raised on a secluded area, your whole life is what i fantasized. That's all i wanted to do, i want to live the moment and not to go to school half of my life and find a job til i die. But yeah, i will find a job and basically do the same thing just like what your father did after i enjoyed my life here in the City. 💖💖

@@WildKiwiAdventurer yep kept on exploring and experiencing Philippines and making videos though..☺️ filipinos super loves social medias, once a foreigner/s features our filipino ways and styles, even just a 1hit video, the numbers of followings never stop! hope you do reaction videos too or just any from our famous singers trending artist ..most vloggers as I noticed, started that way and then when their following suddenly booms! theyl ask or request their viewers what to do next on their videos, mostly, it works! I followed several foreign vloggers who started that way, their channel increase and makes big profits and all..teehee

Great, informational video. You live such a unique, but admirable life that's probably only possible in places like the South Island of NZ. I'm surprised though that you and your dad are clean-shaven, given your lifestyle. I'm sure the two of you can grow a good thick beard, and I was expecting one on your dad!
