Fun fact, Latvian state bank used to be guarded by Latvian National guard's special forces team in 90's. Later it reformed, one part of team merged with Armed forces special operation unit and other part became State Bank security.
oh shit i recognized that Latvian operator... he's the fun as hell medic instructor from the other series on combat medics... or is he??? on a lighter note... you see that last moments of the competition, the satisfaction of accomplishing something challenging with your comrades at arms, leaves me with nothing but sigh and envy... that is the life i was deprived from... that moment of standing shoulder to shoulder and all the build up to it... day after day of a life that will never come...
I think the medic from the other series is Slovenian, not Latvian. He's wearing SloCam (Slovenian variant of Multicam) and in the bloopers, his buddy is swearing in Slovenian (captions have "slovenian swearing noises")
Lithuania really good at physical and they have strength on use of old skool tech, as you can see on sniper, they use German HK PSG, and really good at night combat training, which usually other country use NVG to help them No offense just my opinion

This was an SFG; their role does not specialize in DA (direct action) unlike most of the other competing groups you see here. Rather, SFGs are meant to assist and facilitate the training of indigenous forces (they are still extremely skilled and tough warriors in their own right though). If you want to send a group of Americans that will excel at *this style of competition*, I'd argue that Rangers, DEVGRU, or SFOD-D operators would perform better than an SFG (emphasis on this style of competition).
Qwerty Asdf I thought SFG stood for special forces group atleast it does in Belgium and over here the SFG is the best of the best of our militairy. I would have thought for this kind of competition america could’ve sent a navy seal team or something of the sort. I am no expert on american militairy however.
@@angerfistzalig So the US has many many many different special operations units. The US Army has multiple SFGs (Special Forces Groups) that are also known as Green Berets and they also have Army Rangers. The US Navy has SEALS, the US Air Force has Combat Controllers, and the US Marine Corps have Raiders and Force Recon. All of these are considered Tier 2 special forces (some may consider Rangers to be Tier 1 due to the job demands being very focused on direct action) and they would be more or less equivalent to other countries' special operations units. They are still highly skilled, tough, and elite units but for most of them, their job does not primarily focus on direct action (which are considered the most dangerous and difficult missions). However, the US also has several Tier 1 units; Army has SFOD-D (Delta Force), Navy has DEVGRU (or CAG or Seal Team Six), and the Air Force has PJs (Pararescuemen). These units are as elite as they get as they are comprised entirely of operators that have already served in Tier 2 units. Think of how difficult it is to get into a regular Tier 2 special operations unit. That's already an 80-90% wash out rate. Now take these highly seasoned, skilled, tough elite warriors that have been in combat with these Tier 2 units and train and select for the best of the best at an additional 80-90% washout rate. That's the kind of warrior you get in a Tier 1 unit. I don't believe I know of any other nation that does that. As for competition, I think the 10th SFG were already stationed in Europe where this was held and they joined because they were already there. I don't think any of the Tier 1 units have the time or manpower to send a group around just to compete when they're already overloaded with work to be done.
Qwerty Asdf Thank you for a very clear and thorough explanation. We just have for tier 1 the DSU of the police and the SFG for the militairy. Tier 2 isn’t that well known but what do you want with such a small country
I actually scrolled through all the comments just to find this one. I agree, the music is terrible, but it didn't ruin it for me. It was still worth watching.
I love this. It really makes me miss my time in the service!
