A VERY rough guide on operating MegaMek (I Ate'nt Dead!)

This took far too long to get together, but now I'm back in the swing of things. Let's hope it stays that way, eh?

Ok but how do you host? I've tried and tried to get ports to work but to no luck. How did you get the black magic of online play to work?

Start a game. Get them onto the same network (or use the radmin VPN I mentioned) if standard online doesn't work.
Then get them to put your IP into the address instead of localhost

If you're asking how to get Radmin to work, you both need it installed, then you both need to join the same server in that program, then the one joining needs to copy the IP address listed on the person they are joining into the game address.
Basically like Hamachi

@@hellkitestudios I got it to finally work. I changed my router to portmode, I don't know if that was really needed for the port forwarding I added the port to it's protocol before that. Then here is the kicker, once I used the actual router IP I had to set the network in windows setting to accept out side connections. Windows was the problem not the router none of the guides I found mentioned that factor. I really wish that hosting games was easier. But I guess it did make me more computer literate

@@hellkitestudios any hobby and hobby channel should have one . Battletech is creeping up to become a huge thing , social media wise and I think you can def make a bigger audience with personal engagement . Plus it’d be cool to be in a channel of battletech hobbyists
