I have the rally and I love it. I find excuses everyday to go ride it somewhere. 👍

The rally has softer suspension. ..which makes zero sense to me...re-do the rally suspension for off road. Larger gas tank it comes with plus windscreen makes a perfect TAT bike...just by watching videos, the rear shock needs more rebound ...and it not adjustable! If someone would make a 3.5 gallon gas tank for a KLX 300...I might go green.!

The look of both of these bikes are simply amazing. The one-piece subframe makes me a bit jittery for the Honda product. I demoed a KLX 300 before I picked up my wr250r and speaking of the KLX ground clearance of 9.8 in it just didn't seem like the bike for me. As always though great video, it's good to finally see a couple of sunny days down here in Texas

Hi Joe - Awesome video for sure. I can tell you that of the two - The "clear" choice for the kind of riding that I truly enjoy is the 300L - Reading the comments below (which I agree with) it's too easy to add a wind screen for road work, if desired, and get way better off road performance. You've seen my work, when I'm out in the desert on "THE MIGHTY SUZUKI DR 650" - I like flying off jumps & shit. The 300L would be the better choice for my style.
As always, love your work - Thanks again !!!

I think both bikes look great. I look forward to seeing them in person, though I’m not holding my breath. I’m not in a super big hurry to get one, because I picked up a used, but basically new, 2020 250L a couple of months ago. But I feel like I’ll grab a 300L when I do. I think it will be a better fit for me. Thanks for the video!

If your... say 5’8 and up don’t worry to much bout the seat height on the 300 L... I’m 5’10 and between 150-160 lbs, the suspension sags under my weight and I am able to flat foot it.. I think the 300 L is a much better looking bike then the rally. Also doesn’t hurt that it’s lighter and Cheaper.. but that’s all preference.. like he said can’t really go wrong with either one

Rally gets my vote put a deposit on one 4-5 months out on the list to get one like the rally for bigger fuel tank and wind protection 👍🤟

No offense at all but you're heavy and KTMs junk it's too bad that they bought Husqvarna and ruined them but that's the truth in reality is reality they should have made the Honda 300 around 400 CC's but God bless everyone and happy trails

Rally with a new shock, handlebars and risers. Waiting for Yamaha release a 300 or Kawasaki to bring the 300 into Oz. Until then I'll keep chugging around on the KLR until I get desperate for something lighter.

A good dual sport bike won't be hard to ride 200 miles per day at 55 to 60 mph with 50 lbs of gear. Not vibrate to make your hands feet and rear get tired. Fit guys 5'10" or so

  • @JohnnyBoy919

I'm happy honda made the 300l lighter than the 250l. But considering the wr250r is 295 pounds and it came out in 2008, that's a pretty big disappointment.
At about 310 pounds the bike should have been closer to or lighter than the wr250r. Every pound counts when you're offroad.

I just came across your channel and before I subscribe to hear your opinions I have an honest question, why should I subscribe, what is your knowledge base and experience? I ask this because I don't see any videos of you you riding off road and and your 20k in KTM's behind you look pristine to me.

    • @690ADV
      @690ADV  3 года назад

Answers to your comment, as for videos off-road I have plenty, experience I have enough, as for my Ktm and other bikes I take care of them that’s why they look great. If you want to subscribe thank you if not I’m ok with it too. I will never justify myself to anybody if you want to know my experience and knowledge go to dual sport global on face book and ask or Nebraska dual sport riders.

@@690ADV My intent is not to insult or get anyone upset. The reason for my inquiry is I have found on RUclips specifically many folks who start up channels and offer advice to viewers looking for information, don't have the background or knowledge base to give the advice they offer. Respectfully I think f someone asks, it is a fair question and anyone should be prepared to "justify" the opinions they put out to the public. Isn't that why you have a comment section? In my younger days I worked at a dealership and was then a paid rider for a number of years. I have been out of the sport for 10 years so I am seeking to get caught up on the latest bikes and would just like to know the person giving me the information is valid. I came across a guy (TFL) who does car reviews and started a motorcycle channel telling folks about a KTM 690 he had never ridden, so please don't be insulted I am a very kind respectful person ✌

@@longrider9551 I am not offended, I just get lots of emails and comments from fake riders that only troll channels to stir up stuff. I do reviews for KTM of North Texas from time to time and just a 390 Adventure review on last nights video for KTM North Texas. I understand you want to make sure I have knowledge of riding and off road experience the answer is yes and yes. It's awesome you are getting back into riding, I have been adventure riding for over 12 years and started my channel 3 years ago. Thanks for checking out my channel and if you any info on adv or dual sport I would love to help, I have ridden pretty much every adv or dual sport bike out there and have about 30k off-road adv travel around the US. I have a saying in my crowd those that talk they are a great rider beware, great riders never talk they show in their riding.

As much as I like these new 300s, I have a real hard time believing that just 100 more CC's can transform going down the street at 60 from The Wretched experience it is on my dr200 to something I would actually look forward to LOL
Otherwise I'd be leaning really hard towards that Kawasaki KLX Supermoto 😂
