Thank you for sharing your freezing method. That's the best advice here, however. After picking fresh blueberries and talking to the local berry farm vendors, I tend to believe they know more of the facts regarding what berries should look like when they are fresh. The blueberries I just picked are very large, very ripe, sweet and yes Frosty! I asked the vendors the same question and I got the same answer when I input on the internet so I hope everyone finds this helpful as well: What is the white dust on my blueberries? Known as the "bloom," the waxy, silvery-white substance on the surface of grapes, blueberries, and certain plums acts as a barrier against insects and bacteria and helps to seal in the fruit's moisture. The bloom is also a sign of freshness, since it fades with time and handling.
So I just went to our local blueberry farm and came home and rinsed them to prepare for canning. OOPs I did not need them all and now they are rinsed very lightly so I am going to lay them out let them dry really well and hope that works. Next year I will be not washing, lol They are getting so expensive I may try to get some bushes going. Not sure how much room they take but will do some research. Thanks for all the tips!
Picked a lot of b/b at a local farm and they were delicious. A huge farm. But I was dismayed to hear the grower say they use Round-up in between the bushes to control the grass and weeds. Plant your own! No Round-up! It probably leeches into the berries.
Thanks for the suggestion not to wash! What a simple, excellent idea, to wash before using instead of before freezing.
It was one of those light bulb moments for me when I figured that out! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I'm so glad I watched this BEFORE I washed all my blueberries!! 🫐 Thank you!

Are frozen blueberries from the store pre-washed?
I enjoyed this preserve f blueberry, thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching.
Thankyou for this!
Thank you, that was interesting about how to see them as ripe! I have two little bushes that the birds almost always get them all!
Put fine netting over them.
Thank you so much
Thank you
Get to it!

They are really so easy to grow at home and after a couple of years you will start getting a lot of berries!
Hi,
Can blueberries grow in humid country like Singapore?
Thanks 🌷
It's really humid where I live so I would think that they would. Be sure you adjust the soil to the ph they like.
I've bought frozen blueberries from the store, and they turn to mush when they thaw...
Why is this?
Are you thawing them before you use them? I usually put my frozen berries straight into my recipe without thawing.
I picked around 8-10 pounds from a farm today. I am gonna freeze me. I was wondering from where is that accent. I think it’s Australian. ☺️
Southern USA! Sounds like Georgia to me possibly?
