    I bought a BNF of this frame from iFlight, arrived yesterday. This thing is out of this world, used the Chris Rosser's preset on betaflight. It flies so well, i had never flown anything bigger than a 3.5". Very eazy to fly, so locked on. Just perfect! And very lightweight! 600g with o3 air unit

      Hey dude, im thinking of buying the same bnf but I cant find any reviews out there to know how it is. If you could make a flying video without stabalization I would really appreciate it.

    Any idea how it holds up against the AOS falcon? Especially for LR?

    Hey Ian, I just finished my Chimera 7 build with the HDZero 1W last week (needed a 250mm mipi cable btw) and I also used the Mamba f722Mk3 stack, ECOII motors (except 1500kv), and those HQ Props.
    - I had a strange issue with the Current (Amp) reading jumping all over the place, and I’ll be interested to hear if you have the same issue. Let me know because I found a solution.
    - Beyond that it needed a bit of PID tuning to go properly but it’s flying well now, just need some proper weather up here in Norway, cheers!

      That’s a nice build. I will for sure let you know. Iv not ordered the bits yet as I was hit by my EOY tax bill for the channel so I’m going to have to wait a month. I still am looking panning the 1W HDZero build for this but as that’s not out yet I have a bit of flexibility on time. Im looking forward to seeing how you get on with that for sure.

  • @mrtarika6414
    @mrtarika6414 2 года назад

    I have one but I'm struggling to find ways to lower the weight. The frame is pretty good but too heavy in my view.

  • @alexanderfpv6655
    @alexanderfpv6655 2 года назад +1

    What makes this frame "Long Range"? In my opinion it is specifically not a typical long range frame. It was designed to reduce resonance above all else. Just being a 7" bird does not mean long range. Fully built this frame is 230g. It is a great frame. I would not say it's a great long range frame.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  2 года назад

      I class anything 7 inch as long range. Possibly Cine but realty is this size frame is usually longer flights.

    • @MPQuads237
      @MPQuads237 2 года назад +1

      Agreed. What is even LR (1km/2km/10km) ? I would rather put some badass 2808 or even 2810 motors with some proper kv (+1500kv) and haul ass on 6s with it. Partly because closest mountains are one hour drive and crusing over fields is not fun. Low ground speeding on the other hand that's where my heart is.

    • @alexanderfpv6655
      @alexanderfpv6655 2 года назад +1

      @@MPQuads237 That what I have in the works. 2810 motors (1350kv though) with the capacity to go smooth & fast with a big heavy new GoPro. Who am I kidding, I'll slap some 6s2p batteries on there and go for distance too. Starting with a 230g frame, this is never going to be a standard "long range" build.

    Love what Chris is bringing to the hobby, I'd recommend the hq 7x4.5x3r glass fibre nylon props and definitely a better stack than Mamba if you can Ian I certainly wouldn't be sending my 7inch up a mountain with a Mamba stack in it

    • @alexanderfpv6655

      Why don't you trust a mamba stack? Feelings or evidence?

    • @jhughes2286
      @jhughes2286 2 года назад +2

      Mamba stacks are fine they are very solid. I have used about 6 different mamba esc's in the last year and I beat the hell out of them and they hold up great, unlike my Iflight SucceX 50amp ESC which failed on me after not many packs.

    • @Simofly
      @Simofly 2 года назад +1

      @@jhughes2286 that’s interesting, I bought recently the same esc ( iflight succex 50) , that I saw on a lot of builds on YT , and it gave me only problems until yesterday where it abandoned me in the middle of the flight ( cruising ) so that esc banned for life for me …

    Why make a hole in the middle of the arms for the motor screw (for the motor bell) but not in the plate that holds the arm together ?

    • @alexanderfpv6655
      @alexanderfpv6655 2 года назад +1

      The arm-hole is not just for saving weight. So motors have a bit that protrudes down there. The plate has a specific function (resisting particular stress) The effectiveness of which would be reduced with a hole in the middle of it.

  • @jhughes2286
    @jhughes2286 2 года назад

    It well known that carbon fiber is made up of many many layers, and this "weave" you and Chris Rosser talk about is only cosmetic. It's the outermost layer. So regardless of which way the "weave" is, it will not affect the strength, so he could have made a better, stronger, 1 peice arm.
