Recorded using Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB turntable with internal preamp removed and an AT120E cart. All records are cleaned on a VPI 16.5. I use Adobe Audition 3.0 for recording and processing. Clicks are removed manually with a light filter used sparingly.

Except that Shep Pettibone, the person who made this remix, is an American record producer, remixer, songwriter and club DJ.
The Human League, SoftCell, ABC band, and a number of British groups were the sounds of the 80's.

Neil Tennant (27) and Chris Lowe (22) met in a hi-fi shop on King's Road in Chelsea, London, in 1981.
had purchased a Korg MS-10 synthesizer which sparked a conversation with Lowe. Discovering that they had a mutual interest in dance and electronic music, they began to work together on material,[13] first in Tennant's flat in Chelsea, then, from 1982, in a small studio in Camden Town.
< They say their band name was taken from friends who worked in a pet shop in Ealing and were known as the "pet shop boys".>
[14]In August 1983, Tennant, who was an assistant editor at Smash Hits, went to New York to interview Sting.[13]While there he arranged to meet Hi-NRG producer Bobby Orlando and gave him a demo tape containing "It's a Sin" and "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)". 1983-84, Orlando recorded 11 tracks with Tennant and Lowe including "West End Girls", "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)", "It's A Sin", "I Want A Lover", "I Get Excited", "Two Divided By Zero", "Rent", "Later Tonight", "Pet Shop Boys", "A Man Could Get Arrested" and "One More Chance". In April 1984, the Orlando-produced "West End Girls" was released, becoming a club hit in Los Angeles and San Francisco. On 2 November, it was voted "Screamer of the Week" by listeners of Long Island, New York, radio station It was a minor dance hit in Belgium and France, but was only available in the United Kingdom as a 12" import. a Super W o W World Over The World Of Music...

Believe it or not but this was the first song that the Pet Shop Boys released. It was a flop till West End Girls hit the charts. Then they released it and strangely it became a hit! It sums up the attitude of 1980's Britain then. With it's Boom or Bust. Loads of people suffered. They did not make Lots of Money..No harm to you Neil and Chris. I still buy your stuff. Although it's getting weirder with every album..Peace and Love..Weird Bill from Scotland.

I was so excited for the 2021 tour. I was set to buy tickets for Toronto when I realized the 2021 tour was canceled just one day earlier. Disappointing, but like the song "Opportunities", I bought 4 tickets for a newly added venue in Brooklyn, NY for 2022. Can't wait!!!!

It's a shame that this great remix has yet to be released on CD.
The original Shep Pettibone Mastermix of West End Girls is also only available on vinyl, although you can find an extended edit on Disco. The Shep Pettibone Mastermix of Love Comes Quickly can also be found on Disco, but hasn't been released since. Since may of their other early mixes have found their way onto CD, I wonder if it is a royalties issue with Shep.
You are probably correct. I think so because Neil tends to elaborate on things hen he talks, yet, during the BBC Radio 2 interview/ documentary he mentions Shep once and very briefly. He only indicate that it is a real person and not a modification of their name (Pet Shop Boys/ Shep Pettibone)... and nothing more. Probably the relationship between them is not the best at the moment. This is my conjecture.

..only things that ruin the song is 4mins 55 seconds into the song the sound of the song turns Annoying second is the photo of the artist displayed.snd the thirdis it should 12min long as its a 12" remix and the sing is 7mins 21 seconds long ..other then that great remix 👌 👏

I love the Pet Shop Boys first both guys' were a few years older than me but it was the bomb to be a young gay guy growing up two of the best gay men jamming out all of the air ways with all their European hit songs coming out all the time. In fact, with them and their music I didn't feel so different watching them both making music and they looked like they were really both really looked happy with a long term relationship in life and were happy being in a committed love relationship. Honestly, did know if either were intimate with each other or just band mates. Either way I knew and know now both guys are gay and were a positive influence on me as a young gay man coming into his own sexuality. Also, my gaydar is not wrong when it comes to know my own kind of same-sex seekers.
