    I feel like DC's humility and attitude are not pointed out nearly as much as they should be. In every interview, he talks about things that other fighters would avoid - his vulnerabilities, his past (painful) defeats, the pressure he puts on himself. He's a great role model for any athlete.

      I saw that too.Having known people who wrestled some less open, portraying themselves as physical machines without feeling. I think it comes from how intense wrestling is and how badly you can feel by losing or even just watching another person lose. Cormier is really honest which in some ways is just so impressive

      DC is certainly unselfish and shares his praise towards not only his training partners but also the opponents he’s faced. He also has a great sense of humor and a down to earth personality.

    This video always makes me sad and makes me silent holding my emotions.
    Knowing the results of both fights now, I can understand how much DC wanted to win and I can understand why he cried after both defeats.
    All the struggles, the pain and agony and he came up short against his arch rival. It meant so much to him but despite the effort you cannot win sometimes.
    DC you are an inspiration and a great champion.

    It's really crazy to see DC wrestling at maximum power without having to worry about strikes or guillotines.
    His explosiveness and ability to scramble is really awesome to watch. I wish I could find more footage of him wrestling when he was young. He really is a master of his craft.

    I love Cormier... Cormier did not need to get better at pure wrestling... If his training camp focus on what we are seeing here... I think it is a wrong approach... Even after his performance... I still maintain that he would dominate Jones in pure olympic wrestling hands down...
    He needed to work his takedowns with striking... He needed to work his takedowns against the best in MMA... Good unpredictable strikers that had good wrestling... He needed to use his wrestling as ploy to land strikes... Not to take Jones down... Jones did not engage in wrestling cormier... He was stalling in pure wrestling terms... He made himself hard to be taken down by not engaging.... However every time he 'wasnt' engaging... he was throwing strikes... And he used those strikes and that stalling to catch Cormier unawares and capitalise on his own takedowns...
    Jones only beat Cormier in wrestling because he had a better rythm between takedowns and striking...
    Cormier is too much of a perfectionist... He thought he would be able to easily take down Jones... So he hit a barrier when he realised he couldn't... Instead he should of used this limitation together with strikes... and not forced it...

  • @clintonoshea
    @clintonoshea 10 лет назад +2

    I really want him to win, but I just think Jon will keep him at a distance the entire fight. And I think he's going to sustain a lot of damage as he keeps going for takedowns, and Jones will just keep back-peddling whilst throwing leg-kicks until he takes the spring out of Dan's step. I hope DC takes the win with lots of takedowns and some G n' P, but I'm not sure he can pull it off.

    The only reason JJ has looked as good as he has is because come fight day hes a full one if not two weight divisions bigger, he dwarfs the guys hes fighting and they aren't use to it, his only gift is being as big , long and tall as he is yet light. Said it from the beginning and Gus proved it. I think DC's experience with HW's will make JJ's only advantage mute. You heard it here first!

    • @robertyapor4026

      So being tall is the secret to winning millions of dollars as a mma fighter? Wow. Don't go spending all your money on something stupid after you get into mma training and create an unbeatable title winning champ with your brilliant idea. Would be a shame.
