brought a shimano dropshot rd and while walking to a peg the tip just broke away , only used it 2/3 times .took it back to tackle shop and apparently it was a bad blank same with a fox rage rod, I now use wychwood agitator rods that come with 3 tips , can't go wrong. had them now 4 years no problem
I got a baitcaster for Christmas and today was my first time using it so I took it down Springfield basin lure fishing and had:1perch(1lb 4oz) fail hooked a bream, pike(3lb 2oz and10lb 4oz)perch(1lb 7oz). And my dad was dead baiting for pike and caught nothing 😂😂😂😂
Very good video apart from your rod snapping on the tip, you can some times buy a new top section direct from the rod manufacturer, is your rod a Major Craft if so it won't be cheap to buy another top section.
Oh no, years ago my dad gave me his old rod he used as a lad, spent ages whipping new guides to it. Used it up the broads & it snapped while playing a fish. What lure was your dad using, was it the INBE?
Ahhh that's gutting when that happens mate!! My dad was using the tadpole from FFSLures on that session..he does like the INBE though, just not used it for a bit! Thanks for watching!
It happens to the best of us mate. I once cast out my feeder rod and the tip flew off! I was just lucky I could get it back. Good video though mate and some lovely perch.
Can you not order a new tip section? Most manufacturers will do this. Also I've done this before and since when I walk with the rod I have the tip facing behind me. Less chance of it jamming into trees, bridges or the ground or catching onto things
Done it with bass rods and perch rods in the back of my van. Still don't know how, nothing landing on them or them falling. They just seem to dislike the back of my van for some reason lol
All the fish go to deeper areas in the cold temps. This part of the river Bailey is fishing is 15 feet deep. The shallow areas are empty of fish on this river, I fish the shallow areas LOL.
@@jason5783 15 feet?? That's very deep. Problem with canals though is deep water isn't very easy to find and if there isn't any, the fish are likely everywhere.
The spots I fish are fairly deep, more like 5-8ft in these areas though, however a lot of mine do go down to 15ft in spots! Keep searching! Hope you find them and thanks for watching!
@TheEssexAnglerYT yeahh I hooked into pike dwn past the University bk of old snooker club..my rod wasn't strong enough tip snapped right at the bankside jus as I was about to try an scoop to net..After snapping up I didn't realise I had Two Lads Watching From behind on the footpath an they see the Fish to..Was A Real Torpedo of a Pike had a Long sunken belly..It was that heavy of a Pike My elbow started to hurt immediately when I hooked into it..I see same fish day before as I was fishing for Chub on worms but kept feeling like I was stuck or snagged on the bottom but eventually found out it was a huge Pike eating my bunch of LobWorms..So I decided to go home re tackle up with wire trace an used your Fake baits on my visit back..unfortunately my rod wasn't up to the task I hooked into Pike on my first cast using medium sized fake Wobble bait then the Pike turned on me snapping rod..That gutted feeling belly rot..no rod have to save now for new rod..Catch up soon if I see you on the bank Mate.

I’ve done it with a cheap drop shot rod when I got snagged…but yeah,be gutted if it was a £200 rod
It's always gonna be the expensive option for me haha! Never fun no matter the rod! Thanks for watching!
