This beautiful painting brings tears of joy you see this beautiful woman is one of my Agnew ancestors. My name is James Agnew the 23rd generation of Agnew's I am. I never knew than my ancestors came from Scotland until 10 years ago and I'm very very proud to be a Agnew. Our ancestry go's all the way back to 1290 ad.

This painting is more magnificent and valuable than the Monalisa!

I didn't expect this side of Phill Jupitus. Very cool.
I hope to see Lady Agnew in person myself one day

One of the finest portraits. Analytically, it is a symbol of a person (and a place, social model and time?) that is easy to ascribe feelings of pleasure towards. Opulence, langour and intimacy. Subjectively, she is just lovely in this moment. Many of us stare at this portrait and fall in love. This is enhanced by the fact that (strangely) her life and photographic likeness remain mysterious. I'm reminded of the film from 2013 "Her".

To me, she is looking at the artist in a challenging, slightly accusing way. Beautiful picture.

I was visiting the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh when I climbed a stairway to a small upper chamber and there she was in all her glory: Lady Agnew. What an unexpected delight.

An ancestor of mine. If i showed you a photo of our mother Daphne Agnew, you would be shocked at the likenesses

I am not related but my mother looks JUST like her. It makes this painting more meaningful for me that way, the eyes the portrait contains, the eyes of Agnew remind me of my mom's stern gaze with that motherly undertone. That confidence my mother has, everything. I wouldn't need to show you a picture of her because the painting says everything and more about her. By default this is probably my favorite painting of all time. Nothing spontaneously brings me a sense of belonging like this painting, and when she goes this painting is probably going to make me feel lost. The tears that are going to roll if I ever see this work of art again after that happens, I'm happy I found this painting now so I'm prepared.

He is absolutely out of his mind. Stick to some other subject.
