My father had a new 1960 Galaxie Town Sedan, it was beautiful for eight years, until my mother stepped through the floorboards. I use to lay on the back seat and watch the road go by through the holes in the floor. Traded for a 68 500 XL.

We had a black '60 Ford with the same problem. Dad put some old Gulf oil signs in the back floorboards to cover the holes.

judging by sales figures I bet FoMoCo wished they had a "warmed over 1959 styling" for 1960

Our family had a 1960 Fairlane 500. Absolute piece of crap. No power steering or brakes, no air conditioning, and rode like a log wagon. At the time I remember riding in my grandparents' '59 Chevy Impala and I couldn't believe how nice it was. The difference between GM cars and Ford was huge back then.

One of the all time worst J. Walter Thompson commercial ever. The people who made it are absolute incompetents never giving a chance to show the Falcon which was the more important car.

That was intentional. Ford was pushing their full-size economy models because they made more money off them than they did the Falcon, and the Falcon was taking sales away, not from Ford's competition, but from Ford's full-size cars.

After Listening to him... I would've bought an AMC.
Those clunkers look like RUST waiting to happen.
Just like cheap skate Ford did not put inner Fender wells in their trucks and a cabs all rotted out.
