Finally a coil spring compressor that fits my car, this call a NON STRUT COMPRESSOR because it goes on the inside, the struts compressor is the ones that go outside the coil
I just used this today on my lincoln towncar, it worked really well, I assume it will work on RWD vehicles that have a suspension similar to mine or the one in the video, anyways, I am super thankful, Thank God I saw this video before jumping in !!
The mechanical limitations of the plate make it impossible to seat the spring. Otherwise it's not difficult to use
I used this twice . I do not like it at all . last time the plate shifted during decompression and shifted the entire device to the coil and under such tension and in its position we were unable to release the tool and were forced to cut it. with a recepicating saw . I was not impressed . save you're self some grief and go with the 4 hook or there is a 3 claw one I've heard works well .
How do you safely release it from a compressed spring?
ive used this type of compressor several times. it works but I don't like it. its pretty sketchy. I prefer a 4 hook style.
Is there anyway i can dismantle the fork
Thank you for your interest in OEMTOOLS. The J Hooks are held together with a pressed pin. Removing these may make the product unsafe.
What If i take the lower arm off?
Thank you for your interest. Can you clarify your question and also include what vehicle you are working on please?
If you take the lower control arm off you will get hit in the face with the coil spring unless you use a spring compressor first
Seabee Gamer 4LIFE not true I’ve done it before u just have to have a jack stand under the spring bucket
If had this type of compressor slip on me while under my truck trying to put on my leveling coils and all I saw was that bottom plate just spin like a fucking helicopter and sparks flew everywhere right above my head I dont like this one at all very nerv wrecking
This is the shittiest spring compressor of all time. To bad I'm stuck using it.
