I just want to say I came back and listened to this just now, and to be honest, this has been an amazing few years, hasn’t it? Smash has been a staple since the beginning, and even though I suck at it, I’ve been playing since brawl and loved it. Every game has been INCREDIBLE for its own reasons. To think it’s coming to an end… I’m sad, but… satisfied. Sakurai has given me every character I want. From Mac to K Rool, Joker, banjo, Steve, Sephiroth and even my boy SORA! What a legend he is. We will never forget you Sakurai. Rest for as long as you want you legend. You earned it.
Hearing all these different voices come in and out throughout the song makes me want an interactive version (like a flash animation or something) where you could mix and match whichever ones you want.
Can we just appreciate, the amount of variants of that one picture they had to have made, how many times they had to edit it to make sure they had every combination they needed, and then how much they had to make sure they didn’t get a single one out of place?? Good lord(of light).
You sure they did it like that? Because, the way I see it, it's more like this: There are 7 layers, 1 for the background, 5 going up by one member on each side (so, 1 for the members on the edges, then 1 for those next to them, etc), 1 for Alex, and on the respective layers are placed the different members, in their see-thorugh state of when they're not singing, and it simply is an animation of rendering each needed character not-see through when they begin to sing, and the inverse when they stop
Well that doesn’t make sense. There’s 10 Members visible here. Meaning there would have to be 1 for each of them since they can all appear solo and in a group. So there would to be 10, 1 for each individual person, 1 for the background. 11 at minimum. And even then that wasn’t the point I was trying to make.

Because the use of layers would be to keep those transparent parts of a non-singing person who is right before a singing person still visible, and why would you need to separate the silhouettes of two people that wouldn't block each other with two layers ? Like, the ones on the far left and right, even with all this game of putting a silhouette before or behind another, they don't block each other, so why not putting them in one same layer? And then, the remaining work would only be to change the transparency of each silhouette when needed, which would be far less work than redrawing each picture like you mentioned. Not to undermine the work put into the picture of course, just that the way you described seemed so repetitive compared to what I directly thought of, I wanted to show it could be done in a far easier way.

I just want to say I came back and listened to this just now, and to be honest, this has been an amazing few years, hasn’t it? Smash has been a staple since the beginning, and even though I suck at it, I’ve been playing since brawl and loved it. Every game has been INCREDIBLE for its own reasons. To think it’s coming to an end… I’m sad, but… satisfied. Sakurai has given me every character I want. From Mac to K Rool, Joker, banjo, Steve, Sephiroth and even my boy SORA! What a legend he is. We will never forget you Sakurai. Rest for as long as you want you legend. You earned it.

Can we just appreciate, the amount of variants of that one picture they had to have made, how many times they had to edit it to make sure they had every combination they needed, and then how much they had to make sure they didn’t get a single one out of place?? Good lord(of light).

Because, the way I see it, it's more like this:
There are 7 layers, 1 for the background, 5 going up by one member on each side (so, 1 for the members on the edges, then 1 for those next to them, etc), 1 for Alex, and on the respective layers are placed the different members, in their see-thorugh state of when they're not singing, and it simply is an animation of rendering each needed character not-see through when they begin to sing, and the inverse when they stop
Well that doesn’t make sense. There’s 10 Members visible here. Meaning there would have to be 1 for each of them since they can all appear solo and in a group.
So there would to be 10, 1 for each individual person, 1 for the background. 11 at minimum. And even then that wasn’t the point I was trying to make.

Because the use of layers would be to keep those transparent parts of a non-singing person who is right before a singing person still visible, and why would you need to separate the silhouettes of two people that wouldn't block each other with two layers ?
Like, the ones on the far left and right, even with all this game of putting a silhouette before or behind another, they don't block each other, so why not putting them in one same layer?
And then, the remaining work would only be to change the transparency of each silhouette when needed, which would be far less work than redrawing each picture like you mentioned. Not to undermine the work put into the picture of course, just that the way you described seemed so repetitive compared to what I directly thought of, I wanted to show it could be done in a far easier way.
