It is a legal distinction that gets said incorrectly quite often and I would just like to put my two cents in because I think it really confuses people. I have a juris doctorate, which means that I graduated from law school, and I actually have taken corporate law. When you say you switched your business structure from an LLC to an S Corp. that is a technical incorrect statement. Your business entity is not an S Corp. An S Corp. is a tax filing election. It merely means that although you are an LLC, which is your business entity, that you have elected to file taxes as a corporationyou and I both know the benefits of doing that so I understand why you say that why you did it but to say you switched from an LLC to an S Corp. is incorrect in my opinion. You are merely a corporation for the purposes of taxes.
