Nice! Getting consistent 23mpbs transfer speed with Ethernet cable. It's really not the fastest, but it's very reliable as opposed getting disconnects here and there.

For all those who were having a lot of trouble trying to switch games from pc to ps3 hd (with hen) by ethernet cable, one solution I found was to simply connect the pc and ps3 directly to the internet modem, from then just follow the same steps that you would follow on filezilla if you were to connect via wi-fi, only now by ethernet cable. I'm sharing this because this process gave me a lot of problems, I hope I helped someone and I'm sorry if my english is bad :)
This was easy and straight to the point! I get around 15MiB/s average which is MUCH better than the ftp way. I vaguely remember getting higher speeds back in the day but this could mean i had a better ethernet cable.. Thanks a bunch man!

tyvm for the tut! did this on mac, with cyberduck for my ftp program and it worked just fine. to configure the ethernet settings go to syst pref-network-ethernet-"configure ipv4"-choose manually and then enter in the info ie ip 1.1.1.1 and subnet 255.0.0.0 leave else blank in cyberduck simply click 'open connection'-ftp option- server 1.1.1.2 with port "21", check the anon. login and connect. for some reason the ftp did not work without an ethernet but this way it works just fine on my cfw ps3. great tutorial and hope this lil mac bit helps anyone

Project Phoenix Media Well another problem occurred and I think I chose the wrong hard drive to use on my fat ps3... I wanna ask you a question. How high can the fat ps3 handle on the size of hard drives? Currently I was using a 500GB but now everytime I access to multiman it just stays in black screen then I have to force shut down and it just keeps repeating.. Is there a certain type of hard drive brand that I have to buy? Or is it because of the size being too big for my fat ps3 to handle? I have the original fat ps3 with 4 USB ports on the front.

Is there any way to do this while also keeping the internet connection? I swear I was messing around and did this once, but it stopped working so I went back to this way. Like I was using my laptops Wi-Fi through the ethernet. I really just want the connection to do quick game updates, instead of FTPing over the update PKGs. Edit: Figured it out, you can do this by going to your WIFI's properties (in network and sharing centre adapter settings) and selecting "allow other users to connect through this computer's internet connection" and selecting your ethernet underneath. If it stops working (like it did for me), try deselecting it, waiting a while and reselecting the option. Then go through the PS3's network setup again. Hope this helps.

I was hoping to use something like this to do the mod so i can put cfw on my ps3 and play some games offline but i need to host the files as a webpage through a router now since i cant use my as of yet unmodded ps3 to do this if you need it to be modded in the first place. do you have to switch it back everytime you want to go back to using the ps for gaming? or does the Ethernet connection work for both FTP and internet connection??
To be honest, if you are using FTP to transfer files, just let the PS3 do that until its done. I am not sure if you can FTP and play online at the same time. Even if you could, I'd be more concerned of the FTP file transfer failing and you have to start over.
@@ProjectPhoenixMedia im not suggesting playing at the same time while transfering... im suggesting some sort of setting where both work and you dont have to change the settings everytime you want to do a transfer.
Give it an ip address and make sure it's on the same subnet. This works for any networking device if you want to directly "talk" to each other without a router or switch.
I have transferred a lot of games through FTP into my internal HDD, yet to run any game I have start HEN then to go into multiman, then load the game from there, then it takes me out on main screen with game logo, then when I press X , Game starts, is there any way that all the internal HDD games can be shown at front, without running multiman ?

You can't just go into this without explaining that you need Rebug Toolbox installed along with WebMan on your CFW PS3. You've messed some poeple up.

Webman mod has this feature for cfw users, see if that does same for HEN or not?
