Auld lang syne (violin tutorial)

- Auld Lang Syne is the perfect tune for New Year's Eve or for the end of a Scottish Ceilidh. In this violin tutorial I give four versions. The first is easy and straightforward. The second adds some ornamentation such as cuts and double cuts, to give it a folky Scottish sound. The third has many drones and double stops, giving a rich and complete sound. The fourth is based on the version by James Taylor, and is in 3/4 time. A free pdf of the sheet music for Auld Lang Syne is available to subscribers (see below).

Always a good party banger, but love the alternative melody (think Eddie Reader)
Thanks for the great tutorial. Your lessons are very helpful. One small question about the chords in your sheet music... Being that this is in the key of D shouldn't the F# chord actually be an F# minor chord ?
From a theoretical point of view I'm sure you're right. But that's the way most people seem to play it, and to me it sounds good!
