No. You are not mad. AC is still the best sim around. I've tried them all and I have driven GT3s in real life and I can say that with the right settings, AC still has the best FFB and gives you the best driving experience.

Great evaluation. I'm primarily a console racer (GT7 and ACC) but have dabbled with PCs. I'm excited for what EVO promises to bring to the table, based on my experiences with ACC (and AC as well). Sure, the online accessibility is not as good as i-Gouging, but a lot of people - aside from the rusted-ons - may be swayed from ACC. AMS2, and AC.
AC is by far still the best feeling sim I reckon, I think it was Niels Heusinkveld who said that at the end of the day you're only simulating what someone else deems to feel real to them, and for me the game that feels the most real to me is AC. I've never driven a mercedes GT3 but in my head AC just feels right, it's natural to hop into a car and you're able to tell what the car is doing and how to drive it, which most games I think struggle with!! Another game I reckon is nearly as good as AC1 is AMS1, getting very dated by modern standards but the physics and drivability of cars are second only to AC.
Did you tweak the the FFB in Raceroom or just run it as default? The game has many FFB tweaks that can be applied and the FFB multiplier to fine tune to as required.
The car FFB setting was tweaked a little, but certainly fair that I could probably spend more time on the overall FFB in R3E. I'll give it a go because I really do like RR.

I have driven the McLaren in RF2 and ACC to compare both at Silverstone for a good few hours today, I preferred RF2 for physics and Force Feedback I'll give AC a try tomorrow.
AC with Content Mgr, CSP, Pure, and some outstanding car addons, it is amazing that a game as old as AC still has legs. I agree with the score of 40 for Asctto Corsa.
I would agree with most of these scores, specially those related to feeling and immersion, however, there's an element of racing that is not being considered in the final verdict for each of these titles and that is the racing experience, especially offline racing (wich is something a lot of peolpe enjoy and actually prefer it to the multiplayer counterpart). I cannot talk about iRacing, but I do have first hand experience with AC, rFactor 2, GTR2 and AMS2 ai opponents and, let me tell you, there's nothing like a good battle for a position even if it is for P20. This is where AMS2 is a winner for me and even rFactor 2 is a good example of good ai, but this one is sometime a little tricky to dial just right because it's very track and car dependent, sometimes they're aliens when set to 100 and sometimes they're just garbage at the same strength level. AC's ai on the other hand can be a bit too boring when raced against because they don't defend their position and/or once you take the position they just hang back and won't attack to try to regain that position, unless you make a huge mistake (go out of track or spin out).
Wait for Asetto Evo on January 25. Yes, they are only starting with 5 tracks, but the game is going to be a game-changer. Instead of Unreal Engine 4, they are going with their own KUNOS engine. That is going to be interesting to see the difference. Once they update and polish Evo, I think we are getting to see a different game.
Maybe I should have included some thoughts on Evo actually. I was lucky enough to try it a few weeks back and the feeling was pretty interesting. There is an article on our news section about it
Overhyped, we need mods full support and guys like VRC or RSS to be able to work on the content. Kunos should give us the basis like with AC again, the rest will lie on community shoulders. Also free roam will get boring quickly for all the simracers.
I play them all but I'm torn between AMS2 and AC1. Running the custom FFB file (V18) on ams2 and it just feels fantastic. 4k triples just can't visually be beat on AMS2 either.
I think AC is spot on, i have tried AC, ACC and iracing. Atm i drive iracing because we are holding a league which is just easier to do in iracing. But AC is def the best ffb game, brakes prob same as iracing imo. I think iracing deserved a bit more than 32. But with AC i completely agree. Evo will hopefully be a game changer 😊
Would have been cool to include rF2's take on the AMG GT3, though I would venture to guess AC/RSS' take would still come out on top. One of my favorite GT3 class cars to drive, so much so that I bought a clone rim for it that is pretty worthless for any other cars. I won't argue with your ratings, the RSS AMG GT3 is a hell of a take on the car. ACC has the edge on all of them for interior immersion with the displays, detail and atmosphere. The RSS' driving experience is unparalleled, though, with only rF2's take coming close in my book. iRacing's is the only one I outright do not enjoy, but that's purely down to iRacing's driving/handling dynamics. Never been a fan of their approach, which is purely subjective before some of the more fervent iRacers come out of the woodwork to tell me what a dork I am. Never claimed to be the sharpest peanut in the turd...
AC1 is still just wonderful, it's a hard sim to beat in many ways. The 1.6 AMS2 update is very good as well, definitely give it a shot if you haven't already. I hope that AC Evo is a step above AC1.
The biggest problems I personally see with ACC is the brakes as you mentioned (if it's realistic there shouldn't be any "getting used to them" needed), and the gear sounds. Most of ACC's sounds are quite good, but the gear whine sounds more like an electric motor from an LMH car. I find it distracting especially trying to modulate power coming off slow corners.
HI,classic acc driver, when I look at your braking when you drive acc, for example t1 hard braking, there is no point in braking the car with full braking force, maybe very briefly when the car is straight, but when we start the turning phase, the pressure should be below 50 percent, you can even see full braking and then a drop in braking and again a return to 100 percent, a very short peak at 100, try braking with such great force on your passenger car before entering the corner, and let's not talk about gt3 cars and their big and strong brakes, I can't even imagine what would happen, so if we talk about realism iracing has the best realism because everything starts with braking, it is the main and basic ingredient of driving, we brake by feeling and not according to learned patterns, I took a little long but it is not easy to express myself in a few words, otherwise thank you, good video.
There may be a difference in both sims on how you should drop the brakes. However your comment is solely about, how much the braking force wheels receive. In AC it allows you to turn a little+100% braking, but some mod cars have settings to tune up the brake force/energy to 200%. If used wheels would lock up at even at 90% brake input in straight line.
RaceRooms default setups are veeeery beginner-friendly, meaning understeering. I think they doesn't really show RaceRooms real physics on the limit, unfortunately, unless you tweak the car a bit, like rear wing or ARB, so the setup gets a bit more balanced.
Honestly the thing i hate about AC is mods. Hot take i know but everytime i tried AC i spent more time installing mods and trying to figure out how to get it to act right when it inevitably doesnt. Like you said you had to get ffb mods even. Like how is the normal consumer just going to jump in and know magically what mods to get? Which are realistic and which arent? Which are compatible with eachother and which arent? Honestly its annoying to use that by the time i get it to do what i wanted i no longer want to play it anymore. Bonus point The other problem with mods is theres no way to know if its a good mod or not. If i download a custom car i have no way of knowing if it's physics are modeled halfway decent or if its just made up numbers in a txt file that arent how the car actually behaves at all
It's just too much effort to make it good. And also it never acts the same ever again after certain mods. I don't know how to describe it but the game never feels 'right' after being tainted by some mods. Even after uninstall and reinstall. The only way to get it back is to install it on a new PC. I just have it completely stock now plus content manager to avoid the bad menus because it's such a PITA to manage mods
@@simracinggp wish I was that person. I tried but just didn't like the end results. I could never get it JUST right like it seems other ppl can. Even with just graphics mods. I'd follow someone else guide exactly but then the image would be way too bright or too dark, and if it wasn't it would have visual glitches. Eventually I just gave up and play a combo of GT7, WRC, ACC, and I racing
You just pumped up all the AC fan boy! If you have to Mod the game to make it feel good or look good then it is not being judge on the same level as the rest of Sims. IMOP. Play AC it in its raw form. People don't get in you feelings this is my opinion FFB is subjective.
also I dont know if ams2 looks average due to you tube compression or people lock it in 1080p but with my 2k hdr monitor and 143 refresh rate it looks drop dead gorgeous
Which track is this? (sorry if I missed it). Love the RSS mods and even though I have all major sims, I find myself coming back to AC the most. ACC as close 2nd. If only AC had (way) better AI, it would be perfect. I'm mainly a solo-racer so a decent AI is something I really hope one day offline sims can deliver.
AC for the last 5 years, today first time iracing and its nice but nothing beats AC especially since its only 5 bucks and the rest are free mods. i pay now 80 for 6 months iracing with 3 gt3 cars and nordschleife
The price is not fair in my opinion for ams2. I think you should count the cars and tracks in a pack and devive the cost by that number so you know what one car/track cost.
With all due respect you may be a tad tone deaf. As a musician sound is everything, and it sounded like AMS2 matched the real sound best. I have them all, except iracing for reasons I will not discuss here so it doesnt matter to me, but overall a fairly unbiased review.
Distinctly possible! I guess one thing is that I haven't ever driven them in real life. Interestingly James Baldwin recently described AMS2 GT3 sound as being pleasant but not particularly realistic when onboard.
@simracinggp well, I was going by the sound of the real car at the beginning of your video. Truth is all sim games are like "injun" whiskey in the old west. Drink it long enough you swear it's the real stuff haha.
I don’t normally chime in on videos here on RUclips. The quality is there, screen captures look rough, and the frames seem to drop off. Unfortunately, there are some glaring omissions in the reviews so yes you are mad. The first thing is that you give no weight to the online communities for racing and multiplayer. iRacing needs no community for “mods” per say and most common settings have pages dedicated to making the experience better. However, hands down they have the most active online racing community. Next, while AC is great, you mentioned mods, however, you make no mention that it takes hours if not days to weeks to get the full experience in AC to bring it up to modern standards. You need to install Content manager just to get started with making mods easier and then the list grows from there. Sorry but the video had great premise but failed to hit the mark. Lets see if the next version of this can be more geared towards a better and more competent scoring system.
Iracing might be one of the worst sims in my opinion, the tyres act nothing like racing slicks do in real life and I believe that’s one of the most important parts in creating an accurate simulation, you can have the best car physics in the world but if the tyres are not right then it’s all for nothing.
The force feedback in ACC is terrible, it gets way to light mid corner and you don't feel the weight transfer or the wheels digging in at all, which makes it unrealisticly hard to catch a slide. The physics and force feedback in raceroom is clearly the best out of those titles, and if it had better graphics, laser-scanned tracks and better multiplayer it would have been been the best overall sim for everybody.
Maybe it's because it's the sim I have the most amount of hours on but I've been able to catch slides where my car was pointing almost 90 degrees to one side. At least it isn't like Iracing where past a certain point the fronts don't have any input on the direction of the car
I've been playing ACC a lot (I love AC too) and FFB feels great on my end (CSL DD 8 nm). Beside this, jumping into a race in ACC takes seconds and the racing is always super intense. I cannot tell which sim is the "best" at simulating the cars but ACC is just a great package for multiplayer racing.
@@guidofoc7057 I'm still need to upgrade to the 8nm power supply. I prefer the FFB of acc to all the other sims and i agree that the multiplayer is good but i wish there was a proper ranked system because now on the few tracks i have a lot of experience on i can drive circles around anyone below the top 5 and sometimes even the entire lobby. A system like that of GT7 would probably be perfect for acc or ac evo, not too sweaty and not too casual but the player numbers need to be big enough to pull that off
IRacing vehicle is like looking through a periscope with limited view of the track. The rest of the games vehicle views are better. I have all the games but IRacing. I do not like the games that have to pay subscriptions for which IRacing is the only one.
@@simracinggp I understand. I guess I am used to racing F1 vehicles where I have no restrictions of outside views. Have fun racing in IRacing and win allot of races. Happy Holidays.
There is nothing better for online racing thought….and nothing can compare to a good close battle against real drivers. I started sim racing with AC, went to ACC and after that tried Iracing. Now I’m hocked and even though it has plenty of flaws, nothing can compare if you like multiplayer.
@thedarksideofthemoon6970 To each their own. I guess. I have a friend who been in iracing for years. I told him about LFM and ACC and he's hooked. He's done with iracing. LFM is what ACC needed.
Sure. If the price wasnt that insane in the first place. But yes, for online racing iRacing would be my choice if price wasnt a thing. LFM does decent also and i expect some form of integration in ACE.@@thedarksideofthemoon6970
I can't make up my mind about LMU. I need to put more time into it. It looks and sounds great, but the cars always feel a bit flat to me and seem to lack detail in the amount of driving feedback you get from them.
I predict that another year or so, Most people will be doing VR sim racing, Sim Racing after all is simulation, And you is not getting closer to real life racing while sitting in your living room, Than what VR can bring you, I even would say more people will be doing shoot em games, I don't do the shoot em games myself, I can even see space games in VR a lot more, X Rebirth VR is pretty good mind with the Quest 3.... Tecno Pocket Go AR, VR controller got the right idea, But since I have been sim racing using the Quest 3, My confidence in track have got a lot stronger, While racing at least lol, My skills behind the wheel have improved, I must be a weirdo coz I still does the heel to toe in GT3 cars, lol, I just find you got more ability to swing round a corner if you can rev match pulling out of a corner, Senna was right lol, T-Shirt statement, Heel 2 toe, Yes Senna was right, lol, Heel to toe also puts less strain on the motor don't it?, Still though heel to toe have become a habit now, Where I end up using the heel to toe with every car, lol, Am I right to do that?.. But yeah for me VR using the Quest 3 on AMS 2 is actually impressive, I use sim racing to help me deal with Anxiety, I ain't taking no pills no more, And sim racing helps sometimes, Helps me try to forget the Anxiety or stops me wanting to go out and get pills, I was an addict for far too long, I now use sim racing as the tool to keep me away from the life of addiction, It is all I knew up until I started sim racing a few years back now, So you could say sim racing is helping me stay clean and off pills, But yeah AMS 2 and a Quest 3 is almost a match in sim racing heaven lol, I have not got a high end PC see, And my PC struggles with ACC in VR, Stutters ect. I needs to try figure out the best settings if I am honest, Where as AMS 2, I got High and medium settings but mainly high settings, And I gets 70-80 FPS in 4k VR, I am happy with that, As I am actually great full I have a PC with a sim rig, A T300 that says it is a T500 GT-RS wheel Brilliant wheel for the price, Worth paying the bit extra over the Logitech wheels, I am getting faster with the GT-RS wheel, With the G29 I wasn't, I was stuck at a set pace not getting faster, I got the T300 GT-RS and I started to get faster, I will try get the loadcell pedals soon, I was told the Thrustmaster loadcell pedals are actually pretty good.... Still though for me Sim racing in VR using AMS 2 is the top spot for me at the moment, I don't even put AC on, lol, My go to Sim is AMS 2 using the Quest 3, I would recommend anyone sim racing to grab a Quest 3, Using a UNIU Charging PCVR cable, And you can sim race for hours on end, Stick a Hibloks defogger on the Quest 3 and a fan in front of you, Happy days, Full on as close to real racing while in your living you will get, And like I said Sim racing is simulation, And VR is the best way to do simulation, IMO, That is..... Happy sim racing though regardless how you enjoy sim racing.....
@the_ultra_robot6884 Habit lol, Nor I find tapping the accelerator stops the back end from slipping, When breaking, A GT3 car can still spin out when dropping gears if you got engine breaking, Unstable the car in my opinion, Since I have been doing heel to toe, My cornering has become much better, Try it, Engine breaking 5-6, Then try heel to toe in the GT3 cars, Bit tricky doing heel to toe with the paddles but it gets easy after a few laps, Yes the GT3 cars can be driven two foot, But I really do find it better for the car to do heel to toe, And if you ain't got a clutch then tap the accelerator when you drop the gear, Even Jimmy taps the accelerator when dropping gears, I think, lol, Honestly the reason I mentioned it, Is so people can try it them selves coz if it works for me then it will work for other people, Plus the engine will thank you, lol, Nor try it, Don't just not do something coz you don't need to, I can drive 2 footed, Using the break and throttle, I just find it easier for me, I can now do the Nürburgring 24 in 8.30s in GT3 cars, So it doing something right for me, lol, Honestly try it, As long as you can get back on the throttle fast that is, But yeah for me heel to toe works in any car, lol.....
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and great to hear sim racing helps with your anxiety. Our friends at RacingStronger talk a lot about the benefits of sim racing for our mental health. Check them out. And yes, AMS2 is king for VR!
As soon as you turned on ACC you start to see how every racing game on this list is visually outdated compared to AMS2 and AMS2 is on a old engine. Hands down AMS 2 is king for everthing In my opinion. ACC Braking is Arcady compared to others. I do enjoy it, but I can no longer play it due to ACC have the worse racer In any game I've ever played. Everyone want to win on the first lap and fuck everyone around them. No respect to other drivers.
Graphic. If u run all of the games in low resolution and low quality yeh looks garbage. Never saw ACC that ugly what was in this video. In Iracing had 290 fps instead of gets 120 with better resolution and quality then complain about environment. Should be a score of player base.
Speaking for myself as an only VR racer, AC is where I spend all my time doing that. It’s also easy in easy out. Thanks for your video!
I'm also a VR-only guy these days, though I occasionally boot up ACC. I'm in console, though, so there is only one option for me if I'm doing VR, and no, I'm not going to go the PC route.

Appreciate the feedback. I'm certainly not a great sim driver and braking is often my weak spot!
Bonus point
The other problem with mods is theres no way to know if its a good mod or not.
I guess for some people trying mods, playing with them, finding gems is all part of the fun, is for me... but I appreciate that won't be for everyone!
1080p monitor here plus YT compression = what you see. Need a better monitor!
It's Laguna Seca. RaceRoom AI is worth a try. Battles are good.
AMS 2 has the best AI for solo driving
Now do LMU's LMGT3s
AC for the last 5 years, today first time iracing and its nice but nothing beats AC especially since its only 5 bucks and the rest are free mods. i pay now 80 for 6 months iracing with 3 gt3 cars and nordschleife
The price is not fair in my opinion for ams2. I think you should count the cars and tracks in a pack and devive the cost by that number so you know what one car/track cost.
Which makes sense if there is a way to buy them separately, but there isn't
Your dead right mate. AC does all the right things in capturing a realistic driving experience.
You should've waited for ams2 1.6 update...
I'd been planning this for so long waiting for v1.6 and then gave up... bad timing! Might have to make an addition :)
Lets see if the next version of this can be more geared towards a better and more competent scoring system.
where's rf2?
Wrong. Where is LMFU?!
lmu might now be the best, ac1 with quality mods close 2nd
I crave a season of Group C in AC🤧
Ac and then acc imo.
I wonder how Evo is gonna run
Had a try at Sim Racing Expo and early signs were promising.
Great to see some love for RR. Appreciate the input.
Yep, but AC also has laser-scanned tracks.
What I'm looking forward to is Assetto Evo.
BTW, I don't like you having to buy every car In Raceroom.
A system like that of GT7 would probably be perfect for acc or ac evo, not too sweaty and not too casual but the player numbers need to be big enough to pull that off
Iracing best realistic sim...
dont know why but sense of speed is slowest in iracing, it feels sluggish compared to other racers
Seat position in the car… could have been moved forward a bit.
Only LMU!
You left out car variety, online racing and AI quality as benchmarks.
IRacing vehicle is like looking through a periscope with limited view of the track. The rest of the games vehicle views are better. I have all the games but IRacing. I do not like the games that have to pay subscriptions for which IRacing is the only one.
Regarding view... In fairness the FOV is very adjustable in iRacing but that one suited me ok.
@@simracinggp I understand. I guess I am used to racing F1 vehicles where I have no restrictions of outside views. Have fun racing in IRacing and win allot of races.
Happy Holidays.
Ams2 is mile over competitor.
Well, according to some random dude, @Jaaames Baldwin, its ACC, think I agree with him
Well James has actually driven GT3 for real a lot of course, so will be better qualified than me - So I guess what you have here is my opinion :)
raceroom leave the chat.😆
I 100% agree. Great video
Thanks for watching!
You forgot the best, rFactor 2
LMU :D
I like ACC.
Irenting is so overrated.
No LMU, it's my new favourite, the FFB is really good once you get it dialled in, the car feels planted
I can't make up my mind about LMU. I need to put more time into it. It looks and sounds great, but the cars always feel a bit flat to me and seem to lack detail in the amount of driving feedback you get from them.
Iracing looks even worse then mine somehow
Why exactly are you using heel toe in gt3 cars? You shouldn't be using the clutch, so there's no reason to be right foot braking
ACC certainly is sweaty these days!
I racing 🤮
Just hating cus you can’t afford it
🤡🤡
Graphic. If u run all of the games in low resolution and low quality yeh looks garbage. Never saw ACC that ugly what was in this video. In Iracing had 290 fps instead of gets 120 with better resolution and quality then complain about environment. Should be a score of player base.
Fair enough. Graphically I may need to look at recording settings more than anything
Bro doesn’t know what subjective and objective is 💀 but great video ❤️
AC braking is terrible
sol in ac in 2024. yeaahhhh right mate. get with the times
Will be LMU for sure, GT3 available next 10 of December. AMS2 is simcade...
Have you tried since the update?
@simracinggp Of course... Physics not comparable to LMU, by far.
IRacing is the best SIM for everyting come on!!
Well it will pop up on SGP very soon so I guess I'll have to drive it more :)
Need for speed.. stupid questions get stupid answers..
iRarcing is the best in my view, I have tried them all except RR. ACC FFB is awful btw, rubber steering.
RaceRoom Racing Experience is very good since the last update so is AMS2
