    Travel video about nature park Yellowstone National Park in the USA.
    Located in the northwest of the U.S.A., in the state of Wyoming, is Yellowstone, a national park of the superlative, in which the impressive white water of Old Faithful is today one of the most famous and most photographed natural spectacles in the world. Indeed, for more than a century, this mighty geyser has been the proud and unique landmark of the oldest national park in the United States.
    The Yellowstone National Park is famous for its highly visible geological processes. The area close to Old Faithful not only features a number of geysers but also numerous hot springs that highlight the tremendous thermal power that lies beneath the earth's surface.
    Today, the Grand Geyser is the largest active geyser in the world. Its huge eruptions occur every 8 to 14 hours and last for 9 to 12 minutes and can sometimes reach a height of 60 metres.
    The Yellowstone is one of the largest volcanoes in the world. Because it is located directly above a geological hot spot, a huge cave constantly fills with magma. It is situated at a depth of 8 kilometres and is the reason for the park's visible geothermal activity.
    Some kilometres south of Nymph Lake is another geothermal area, the Norris Geyser Basin. This area is unique among the landscapes of Yellowstone Park as it is not only the park's hottest area but also boasts the largest geyser in the world, Steamboat Geyser.
    Although Yellowstone National Park is important for North America's plant and wild life, this 9,000 square kilometre nature reserve is primarily a geological park.
    Amazing, fantastic, incredible and wonderful. How can you put into words a place that provides so many remarkable glimpses of the inner workings of Planet Earth?

    Yellowstone was not only the first American national park, but also the world's first. Bison are in the bovine family, which does include cattle, but also antelope, sheep, goats, and gazelle. To differentiate from the Grand Canyon in Arizona, this one is called the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone (River). The bacteria in the boiling water are called thermophiles.
    I have to say this is one of the best videos on Yellowstone that I've seen. Thanks.

    Went this summer and it was worth it for sure, so much to see, just beautiful all over beautiful. So much to see and do, never a dull moment. Great video here At one gyser area there was a fresh large hole where a buffalo walked out and fell through. (glad we missed seeing that)

    Fantasic video. Bookmarked the video for my bucket list. Important thing for visitors to note is that video contains the best of the park's sigts during the best of the times. Your mileage WILL vary depending on season, time available, timing, weather, health, crowd etc.

    Ive been to Yellowstone every year for the last 26 years and there is no place like it! Grand Geyser is the largest predictable geyser on Earth not the largest. Steamboat is the largest , its at Norris geyser basin north of old faithful. Its totally unpredictable and has explosive eruptions throwing boulders out when it happens !! My only problem with the park is the many tourist from other countries. They seem to think its like disneyland, an amusement park. They try to get close to the animals walk in front of you when you are shooting pics. I know it may be a cultural thing but they are here and need to follow the rules. we have taken to cheering on the buffalo to nail em'. wrong I know but... every American needs to go there at least once.

    i know this is totally unrealistic and so on but hypothetically speaking what would you find/what would happen if you had a metal pole of any decent length and shoved it down the holes the geysers come up out of?? would it just keep going down and down and down or would it eventually hit rock or how does that work???

    Taking my family next summer. Thinking about the last two weeks of June. How's the weather that time of the year and what and where to go?

    • @cierakitty
      @cierakitty 8 лет назад +1

      +Chris B  Weather in June is good, wildlife is all out and about. Do not know which way you are coming from, but from Texas I went through Colo. on up through Wind River (worth it very scenic), into Cody into the park, hit the east loop and hit the stops (canyons, falls etc.) on up to Mammoth and back down around the west loop for gysers, pools, paintpots, mudpits,;thermals etc. You might also enjoy going on down to Moab, Utah, very nice as well. Take plenty of film, and buffalo are everywhere, so drive slowly, and if the road signs say 20 mph on a curve, they mean it. Also in Wyoming antelope are everywhere, watch for them along side of roads.
