Tipp: I used a soldier gun from Weller once for welding a wire to a metal frame. Needed a lot of energy. And also used special Flux for Zinc/Copper aso. for making the connection. Another time I had solder wire with acid flux embedded inside the solder wire. Worked great.

6:56 - Put metal item on vice, heat with brener, butane torch, maybe to the point where its getting red, then place it on the board?
13:45 - I have seen some videos people soldering with vaseline, it allows even to solder wire to aluminum plate.
22:35 - Not only this but sometimes they try to get away by putting pressure on repair man. Thats the moment when diplomacy starts.

    • @oilybrakes

When you heat metal with a torch, it oxidates and makes it impossible to take solder and bond to the contacts on the PCB.

I bought some Stainless Steel Flux Soldering Paste HWY-800 off ebay $3. It actually worked to secure a wire on shiny metal bracket that regular flux would not. Seems strong hold but didn't try picking up 5 pounds with it. The label of this HWY is in another language, composition unknown but it came thru customs and mail. It looks like water so guessing that it's just boric acid (borax & water mixed) which is common silver flux.
Sorin, having worked in assorted fumes, nothing major but regular I can tell you that all those damn "colds & flu" were warnings that I ignored. The lung irritants screw up protective lining of sinus and lungs, letting germs in. It heals but the scar tissue patches that look like brittle rosin flakes make lungs so they don't stretch when you get old. You'd be better off smoking regular cigs if you are going to huff rosin fumes. The sticky tar in the nose keeps the fumes & germs out of the lungs. Worse than emphysema, e-cig oil causes cotton lung very rapidly even in young people.
