I more meant it as it’s a really great song.
I saw Ian brown live and he played a few stone roses songs.
I saw sing live and he played a the police song.
Paul Simon plays Simon and Garfunkel songs etc.
Soo it’s not totally unheard of. I just think it would be an excellent song live and for the sake of fans it is worth playing.
      But maybe that’s just me.

Many don't know the history of the lighting. Vari*Lite was originally funded by Genesis and Tony Smith (their manager) back in 1980 (the first use was on the Abacab tour). (Tony Smith also came up with the name) That system became the first automated lighting system and it is the progenitor of all modern lighting systems today. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vari-Lite#Invention

Technically all his wives did in one way or another. His first wife was the reason Phil ended up having an affair on his 2nd wife which ultimately caused him to quit the UK (after a fax he sent to her, ended up in the paper somehow, hmmm ) just after he met Orrianne, which finally finished his 2nd marriage. Poor guy.

All i'm going to say is .. I am very grateful to have seen Genesis on the Turn it Up Again tour Sept. 23, 2007 Verizon Center Washington D.C. It was an incredible show. The only song I wished they'd have played was Abacab but that's ok because the rest of the setlist was stellar. Although I wouldn't pay to see this tour live, I am happy to see Phil doing what he loves, and that is perform. We have lost SO many incredible musicians the last couple years (ie. Neil Peart, Edward Van Halen, Joey Jordison etc..) so I'm extremely thankful we still have the legendary Phil Collins on this earth breathing air.

People need to remember that before Phil came out of retirement he was having a real bad alcohol problem. And it it got so bad that it nearly killed him (Phil's mentioned this in
a few interviews himself). So I'd rather see Phil sitting on a stool and singing on stage even if his singing isn't as good as it used to be than see him drinking himself to death.

There were things that preceded his alcoholism that may have caused him to turn to booze. The divorce, his retirement, surgery and nerve damage. However, sadly, his drinking situation hasn’t improved; he spends much of his time at home drunk. I’m sure his drinking issues have something to do with his vocal and cognitive abilities.

I was debating trying to get to the eastern US for a show this year (since I live in Arizona, and unless they change their mind, they're not coming out west), but I may reconsider, considering how much of a pain it would be for me to even try to get out there as it is, what with all the other stuff I have going on until the end of the year. But after watching this whole show I’m thinking, well done, does it matter there pretty much all in there 70’s? it's so sad to watch Phil in these conditions, immediately after watch the same song performed in the original Invisible Touch tour, especially the Wembley show. Here, he's struggling to sing and make his voice resonate, always asking the help from the audience to sing along. In the original, he absolutely owns the scene, chanelling his emotions in his voice so powerfully, that you can't help but get mesmerized by his presence alone. It seems that the other musicians here are always focusing on Phil just to help lighten his flaws and make them less noticeable.

Very good performances all things considered. The one thing that gets me is this. Couldn't they have afforded a better chair for Phil to sit in? That looks a cheap, ordinary office chair! Phil is worthy of a "throne" like Dave Grohl and Axl Rose (Rose actually borrowed Grohl's) used when they toured with leg/foot injuries.

I’m glad I saw Genesis in 2007 in Amsterdam in it’s original setting. I wouldn’t have visited one of the concerts of this tour. It’s naice that Phill has the willpower to keep on going, but his singing is also not getting any better and then it’s better to take your loss and find something else to put you energy in. There are more artist that keep on going while it would be better for them to stop.
Perhaps it would be better for them to make a small range of acoustic performances instead of these more massive concerts. A few small ones in small theaters.

It was a fantastic show. The only negative was that they didn't play "Jesus he knows me". Other than that it was all good. Great atmosphere.
