Megan Follows stole my ❤️ as Anne in 1985, and again in recent years with her phenomenal depiction of Catherine de Medici. She captures the complexity of this multi-sided character, & especially love the wicked & mischievous humor Megan brought to the series. Catherine had me in stitches almost constantly despite some of her more 'questionable' actions. ❤️❤️❤️ She’s an amazing, beautiful & talented woman who I would love to meet someday, and if not in this lifetime, hopefully in the next! ❌⭕️❌⭕️ 😉 🌎🌙✨⚜️
Mine too. She' was very emotional, touching and deep..and beautiful with her red hair..She's something!! I like this series too but another movies as well. She has still this depth that many actresses don't have.I also love her mieschievous eyes and expressions..She's great! I am french but like her a lot..
You ALL get in line cuz Meg is mine!!!!! 😂 Saw her when I was 15 in SILVER BULLET and been in love with her ever since! Theee ☝️ & only MEGAN ELIZABETH LAURA DIANA FOLLOWS ❤️🥰👍🥵😍
What a smart, classy woman Megan Follows is. I grew up watching her on the Disney Channel in the late 80's and early 90's with the two "Anne" miniseries, "Green Gables" and "Avonlea".
Megan, Kevin Sullivan, Lucy Maude and PEI changed my life and the life of my family. We now live on a farm in PEI and became Canadian citizens in 2010. I wonder if Megan would ever consider playing Lucy Maude Montgomery? Nobody better prepared for a stunning success in that role as she. Our nearest neighbor when we moved to the island was an old bachelor farmer who told wonderful stories in the peculiar island vernacular, especially if encouraged by a bit of rum. As a California native I was always amused by Richard Farnsworth as Matthew Cuthbert. Born in Los Angeles, he had the accent and shy manners of the western cowboy he actually was. And I knew men like him growing up in So Cal. Now here I am living in Annes land, accepted as a neighbor but still recognized for my western drawl. Same with fans of the 1985 production who took in Richard Farnsworth as though he was a born islander. Cheers.
One thing that I admire about Megan Follows is that she has never spoken negatively about her time playing Anne of Green Gables. She may be sick of answering questions about Anne but she always has a positive response. It's so disappointing when an actor bad mouths a character that millions of people have grown to love.
I think it's great that she embraces it. Anne Shirley means so much to so many people and Megan was perfection as Anne. I think it's a combination of embodying the character in real life (she comes off as very witty and upbeat, like Anne, in interviews) and just recognizing why the miniseries meant so much to people. I can see Amybeth McNulty being the same way in a decade or two because she was also wonderful as Anne and her portrayal meant a lot to everyone.
As a Megan Follows fan I find her not only remarkably talented, but kind, articulate, intelligent and down to earth. Refreshing and admirable qualities indeed. :)
I wonder if either Kevin or someone else produced it, would she be interested in playing Anne as a grandma in a film. Considering Jonathan passed away, maybe play a widow.
omg i just binge watched anne of green gables (the 1985 adaption) for the first time after reading the books 3 years ago and my most recent read was the penelopiad and i didn't know that there was a play of it or that megan played penelope ahhhh
To me she just feels like a warm cup of hot chocolate. Many have tried, but none can touch Anne. She just is Anne. She made her really REALLY relevant.
Loved this to watch and see Megan for me Anne:))Sadly the sound was very very poor by the people that asked the questions., and it wasnt subtiteld they were by the answers Megan gave, Maybe next time youcan check the sound please? With thanks and many greeting from The Netherlands!
Little punk rock girl turned............ adult. I mean, when you look at her face as a young lady, you don't picture her old. She just have one of those punk rock girl faces but now she's....... adult. Just. Weird.
I just love her and Jonathan Crombie (RIP) as Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe.

Christopher Plummer and Kate Winslet come to mind.

The late David Cassidy as well.

My sweet, beautiful and eternal princess Anne of Green Gables.
She is flawless in every thing in every way
Wow she looks great. She still has Anne's personality...or her own 😂
her laugh is so incredibly infectious, i love it! she's outstandingly intelligent and a joy to watch.
This is January 2024, and a definite advocate of the series of Anne of Green Gables, it was a pleasure to find this interview with Megan!

What a shame that Gilbert Blythe (Jonathan Crombie) died of AIDS at 48 a couple of years ago
It was a brain hemorrhage
SIDA? NO!😲
Next year will mark 10 years since he died.
