Seroquel is literally the only thing to level me out.. I’m an absolute mess without it! Even just after missing one dose I feel myself going down hill fast! Depression, chaos and suicidal ideation and then hallucinations.. (crisis team time) But it’s crazy how taking the medication on time the next two days I’m back to functional.. it actually scares me how fast I deteriorate without it though.. Like you my quetiapine dose changes a lot! I’ve been upto 650mg but I find 150-300mg the sweet spot! Im also on Lamotrigine for my depression as I can’t take other antidepressants because they send me the other waay, bouncing all over the place! My overal thought on quetiapine is, grateful and could even say love it.. it keeps me alive 😂 We seem to have a very similar experience with this! Nice video! Subscribed!
I have depression/ptsd/anxiety. I'm on Seroquel for my anxiety, at times it makes me so sleepy that I crash for so many hours. I just got my prescription for prozac and I'm a little anxious about side effects and intrusive thoughts. Like everyone, I want to improve, not get worse, hope it works 😩
Yes it does make you kind of tired. Though i've been on it for so long i don't really feel that affect anymore. It has helped my anxiety loads!!! it's the only way i can function and leave the house without having constant panic attacks.
I was prescribed the same as you for anxiety/depression and they made me worse. Side-effects of seroquel are just horrible.. do plenty of research before you decide to take it because its very hard to get off, the withdrawals are terrible and the higher the dose and longer you take it the worse it is to get off. Doctors do not talk about withdrawals but there are plenty of testimonies on RUclips ; Here's just one ruclips.net/video/UXT9v0xi3SE/видео.html .. Best of luck, just be vigilant and if you're having troublesome Side-effects, get off it b tapering as soon as possible.. unfortunately all antipsychotics are similar and basically toxic to the system so should really only be a last resort.
Glad I came across your channel this evening. I've been taking quetiapine for the last 10 years along with sodium valporate for my Bipolar but recently I've had racing thoughts from the minute I wake up to the point they give me headaches. My psychiatrist has recommended olanzapine and it sounds amazing for what I need right now but I'm petrified of the long list of side effects that go with it, I know all anti psycotics have side effects but the list of them for olanzapine is quite worrying so I'm delaying it for now as the rapid weight gain effect petrifies me. Anyways your channel is amazing and thanks for the video.
Aw I can relate to everything you said!! I hope things improve and that the medication can help you feel better and not give you any bad side effects! It can be so challenging to find the right treatment 💕
You are on a relatively low dosage of seroquel so I wouldn't worry about TD. I've been on zyprexa for a long time and I don't have ticks. I am on half the amount of zyprexa I was initially. I take an antidepressant but cannot take a high dose because it gives me mania. I wish you well in your endeavor of counseling!
I’m on the autistic spectrum and have been taking seoquel 400mg for over twenty years. My heart races but I have been able to maintain weight. Now I have uncontrollable gagging and retching like going to the dentist, but I was placed on Amantidine for EPS.
I've been on lamotrigine (400mg) for 4 years for bipolar II and anxiety. Recently started quetiapine extended release (300mg) and after a few weeks I noticed my anxiety dipped and I feel more mellow and carefree. I had issues with brain fog the first two weeks but started taking the quetiapine in the evening around 19-20 since the peak effect is at 6-8 hours. Bipolar medication is really tricky to measure short term since it's episodic, but hearing your experience gives me a little hope that this might give me a period of peace.
Probably one of the worst and least explained side effects of anti psychotic meds that the psychiatrists don't informed one of, sadly. Most of the time it is irreversible unless attended to as soon as noticed. Tardive dyskinesia. This neurological condition is caused by long-term use of certain drugs used to treat psychiatric conditions, called neuroleptic drugs. Tardive dyskinesia causes repetitive and involuntary movements such as grimacing, eye blinking and other movements.
I’m on 25mg for sleep after having insomnia for years and my insomnia leads to panic attacks. I’m going to try to not need to increase the dose from 25mg. I am worried that it will either stop working for sleep (tolerance) or that I’ll need to stop the medication and will barely be able to sleep anymore.
@@alyssadanielle2410 I am not a doctor or anything. But you may try some changes in your lifestyle like running in the mornings, not caffeine and black drinks like 3 hours before sleep and a regular sleep patter. Not sure if it helps.
Just about everyone complains of severe insomnia when they stop it. I'm tapering down and it's not nice. Horrible drug and causes so much damage to the system the longer it's taken, the worse the damage it can do, a lot of people develop diabetes from it . Some get severe dyskenesia. I got restless leg syndrome , severe weight gain and raised cholesterol within the first month on 100mg. Tapering off now and having mild withdrawals but cold turkey from abrupt stopping is worse than opioid withdrawals by all accounts
@@justinebourke9449 after around 5 months the restless legs issue went away. Sugar and Cholesterol levels are normal now and sleep habit as well. You will be okay, but it will take some months.
Hello, I am terrified of trying new medication because I’ve heard about the weight gain and bad dreams. I am already sensitive to medication and I don’t really know what to do.
I am on 150mg twice a day of quetiapine and along with 20mg of citalopram and feel nothing is working i self harm daily as a relief,i have been on a section 2 in a metal health hospital after a suicide attempt,i feel the quetiapine has not stopped the voices which is making me panik that it will never go.
I was in a chemical straitjacket. I was a zombie for 24 hours a day, sleeping incredibly long. When I finally got out of bed, it was a struggle to get to the kitchen. And then what happens on Seroquel is that it freezes your muscles and shuts your muscle system down. So, it's really hard to walk. And when I did walk I had no control over my ability to stop walking, so I walked into walls.
I'm so sorry you had that experience! Luckily I've had no side effects from it and I take 800mg a day. I do have chronic fatigue syndrome though so I get the part about your legs, mines just coming from a different reason. Best of luck to you ❤
Been on 50mg at night with 30mg mirtazapien... still waking up twice in the night and taking an hour to get back to sleep, it’s not helped at all with my anxiety,depression.. am now 5 weeks in

i unfortunalty have to take it morning and night. But taking your full dose at night is usually best because then you won't feel as tired during the day. Plus it will help you have a better quality of sleep. The brain fog and exhaustion do lessen but i've been on different doses of it for years and i it stills effeccts me but i can still function.
