170K kilometers in mine and not any single problem. Probably the best car I’ve ever had. Not only for short distances, but long. I’ve taken it from Spain to Denmark and back, not any single issue.
some of the users here comment that they have no problems with the car even after 250k km . i supose if you take care of the car , everything is not too bad . but buying used car is quite a gamble unless the owner has service history
I asked a BMW dealer and the Timing Chain is considered a lifetime part and has no replacement cycle in terms of milage or age. Of course, problems can occur anyway at anytime.
I own an f21 with the n13 engine, done my best to look after it, service etc. But it's reliability is horrible, if you're considering one, please please don't bother.
I agree mine is 2013 had all sorts of issues, my ecu fried itself which then completely fried 2 of my coils... many more issues. what kind of issues you having?
After watching and listening... It acknowledge my worries and fear based on what I was told by friend who used to buy and drive BMW cars. I always wish to own a F20 116i or the older evergreen and that undoubtedly sexy E46 325i or the E90... Imagine if you are facing all those problems right after buying a secondhand of any of those F20, E46 or E90... Your nightmare comes to life and your pocket will be having a humongous hole... Seriously. Guess I have to forget about BMWs... Stick to Perodua cars or even Proton... Less to zero problems.
I'm on my second BMW and none of them had any issues. One is a E90 318d with 250k kms and the other is a F21 LCI 116d with 130k kms, if you maintain them properly they last pretty well.
Hi! I have a F20 1.5L 116hp, B37, 3 cylinders with 79k kilometers, and I have no issue for now. If the timing chains will keep 150k kilometers it will be good for me :D
I got an 114i 2013, had to change the engine. Previous owner mistreated the car and the maintenance was badly done. Got an engine with 50k on it, timing chain, oil pump chain, valve seals till now it’s ok, done 2000km since I installed the engine. In one month. Not one even a single oil consumption. I think the trick is on your maintenance. You need to know how to maintain a prince engine. True they are bad. Only where liqui moly and ceratec on my cars andthe best filters I can find and still not one single problem yet and no strange metallic noises our anything, and get rid of some restrictions and you’ll see you’ll have some fun guys. Not every bmw is for everybody
My 116idont want to start I did buy a fuel pump I did put the pump in the tank after I try to start it don't start at all what can I do please help me 7:15
I did alot of reasearch about the main problems of the n13 engine and non of them said anything about the the crank or turbo and so on at all. its just the first time i hear all this in this video. Plus some of the stuff you are talking about are things that can happen to any car. I dont believe that this info is accurate.

I always appreciate a video that jumps right into the content without any lengthy intros. Keep it up, this was a good vid :)
I have BMW F20 diesel 2 litres 116d from 2011 until now at 350000km . It is most reliable car , zero problems only fuel and standard maintenance.
Wow impressive! How often do you service?
No chain replacement?

Before buying BMW, make sure you have enough budget to maintain it. 😎
