    Could you use corrugated plastic sheets instead of peg boards?

    • @GPSnakes

      I believe you can. I used peg board to have more air flow.

    Really good cost for a homemade rack. We love the idea of pegboard for ventilation and the interchangeable tub size! It makes the rack very versatile.

    So you don’t cut the pvc pipe at all right. It’s one piece of pipe that goes from the top to the bottom shelf you just screw it in place once you have the correct air gap for the tubs?

    • @GPSnakes
      @GPSnakes  2 года назад +1

      Hey so the pipe I got was 10 feet high. I did cut it down to 5 feet. So I got two 10 feet to make four 5 feet pipes. Then I screwed them in when I got the right air gap.

      So I use the dvd to make a little gap between the tub and the top. Its for air flow and so the tubs are easier to slide. Any other questions feel free to ask.

    • @GPSnakes
      @GPSnakes  Год назад

      So it all matters what tubs you us. Checkout this video I did, I show how I measure for the tubs. Got to 12:18 minutes of this video.

  • @jasondominguez8179
    @jasondominguez8179 4 года назад

    So did you leave the 1 inch PVC whole, or did you cut it to the appropriate length similar to what the rack came with. It would be cool to find a way to slide the shelves up and down solid legs of PVC. I have completed a 10x16 building on a slab, now time to run electric and walls. Every penny counts and this fits right along what I will probably do. Thanks and great diy.

    • @GPSnakes
      @GPSnakes  4 года назад +1

      Yea I bought two they come 10 feet long. I cut them in half so I could have four that are 5 feet. Thats why I use those reptile basics, three tub sizes all the same height and length. Works perfect for a hatching, grow up rack and adult male rack. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for making this video by the way.

    • @GPSnakes

      So I use a herpstate, I plug all the heat tape into a outlet surge protector power strip then plug that into the thermostat. Hope this helps.
