  • During my Destination Challenges in Leuven I had to learn how to serve the perfect Stella from the world champion 2014, Marjolein Geuens.
    Definitely my favorite mission in Leuven.
    Check it out and learn how to draught the perfect pint while you're at it. ;-)
    Cheers!

    If I served a pint looking like that at my pub the customer would throw the drink in my face

    how is water sanitary when you stick your hand in it over and over. i'd rather have a dirty glass than wait 10 minutes for a beer rinsed in hand water

    There are many ways to pour beer, so what you know is not everything.
    In fact, this is exactly the same way I learned in Delirium Cafe in Japan.

    I’ve been drinking for the past five years and I’m guessing as a rough calculation I’ve probably drank 4,000 pints and about 300 bottles of wine...is that bad?

    I doubt that she does do that - cleaning glasses - for 3 or 5 hrs .. it is clearly a show cause I doubt she can keep that peace all day long by cleaning glasses. Perhaps the servant does this work but surely not her , if she would work all day long by
    cleaning glasses , she would not want to make a video about it. Only the people who are exploited by evil managers may have to do this work all day long :( But it was certainly a good service so that I know now how to wash dirty glasses if the washing robot is broken, therefore many thanks. Post Scriptum : I believe there is no need to use all that water. So, when you have 100 customers , WHO IS THE HERO who does this washing- glasses by hand ? What about if those customers drink triple times each?

      Belgian beers are known for having triple or quadruple the size head, even compared to other European draughts (think guinness)

    • @TheSocialTraveler

      The glasses were washed and rinsed according to standards. The girl in the video is the world champion beer drafting of 2014. She knows what she's doing ;-)

      gary63693 there was soapy water and in that water was a scrubber. That's pretty much as hygienic as you can get.

      Usually the rinse water according to most standards needs chloride in it and glasses must rest for at least 30 seconds. Good enough for American FDA

    That's a lot of water wastage lady. Kindly try some other alternative method. Customer orientation is important, but equally important is ensuring that water does not get wasted unnecessarily.

  • @lukemorgan3656
    @lukemorgan3656 6 лет назад +2

    That is the worst pint I have ever seen, if I served that where I worked I'd get asked for the rest of It, and for the record, you shouldn't wet the glasses they should be cool and dry other wise it ruins the carbonation thus ruining the head

    • @TheSocialTraveler
      @TheSocialTraveler  6 лет назад +1

      Where are you from Luke? I learned that people draft beers in many different ways around the world. This is how they do it in Belgium and since Belgium is kinda the beer capital of the world I tend to go with their expertise ;-)

    • @lukemorgan3656
      @lukemorgan3656 6 лет назад +1

      The Social Traveler I'm from Wales which borders England and I've been taught from the age of 13 how to correctly pour a pint, I come from a long line of bartenders so trust me I know how to pour a pint, if I poured that the customer they would also ask for a flake or a spoon, joking that the head is too big and it represents an ice cream, and Belgium is clearly not the beer capital other wise you'd know that Stella is a lager and not a beer

    • @TheSocialTraveler
      @TheSocialTraveler  6 лет назад

      Let's agree to disagree. I know that people pour pints without head in UK. You guys have a different way of serving you beers ;-) PS: I'll let the people at Stella Artois in Leuven, Belgium know that they don't brew beer :-)

    • @lukemorgan3656
      @lukemorgan3656 6 лет назад +2

      The Social Traveler incorrect, the head must be at least 5% on beers and lagers, if poured correctly the head should last until the drink is gone, now call us British old fashioned but when we order drinks we want a pint and not half It's a waste of the customers money and just bad bartending

    • @TheSocialTraveler
      @TheSocialTraveler  6 лет назад

      That's the UK point of view which I understand. Different places, different rules. ;-)
