I personally like the white on the ps5. Playstation consoles have been black for ages. White is a welcome change but having options is pretty awesome 🤔
Sony was genius making the plates replaceable, it allows us to keep our systems looking like new should our covers take damage and gives us an easier opinion than trying to wrap a system.

except for the fact they screwed the players over by banning other companies so they can bring these out a year later at double the price of competitors... I'm sure we would have seen some amazing gaming themed plates but companies wont bother because sony will cancel them
@@paul28177 As long as you don't copy the exact same design, you should be fine. It's not really that odd for a company to protect ones own design. If they didn't stop Dbrand, everyone would have been allowed to copy that design. I applaud Dbrand for the 2.0 version with ventilation. I see no reason for Sony to block the 2.0 design, but I completely understand why Sony would stop them from making a black version of the almost-original design.
I was almost thinking of spray-painting my PS5's white faceplates into black, but we all know that it's not going to look anywhere near as good as an actual set of black faceplates. I am definitely getting it when it's released where I'm from.

Watching her trying to pop off the plates raised my anxiety levels through the roof! LOL. I'm actually quite surprised at how many rather high profile RUclips tech reviewers had no idea the plates were removable. These are all fresh. I really like the purple one, which is the one I’m getting. I wish it was a little brighter but it looks great either way. I’m also tempted to get the black console cover and black controller to match my ps4, ps2, and GameCube. Then again my switch oled dock would be the only thing sticking out cuz it’s white so, idk, maybe I’ll keep the console white and black. Definitely getting the purple controller tho 👾

I actually love how the ps5 uses faceplates and lets people completely change the color instead of releasing a different colored rare console that no one would be able to buy since white ps5’s are so rare still, props to sony for thinking smart for once

Bought a 3rd party black cover along with, and when Sony released the black controller. Looks so much better in my opinion especially if you have a Sony home theatre amp etc sitting alongside. Saying that, the purple looks incredible and gives me retro GameCube and GBA vibes.

I just received the blue controller a few days ago and love it. I am still waiting on the red case which I should have in a couple days. They look way cool. I am thinking of buying the purple controller and maybe the cover as well. Not that i need them, but the just look cool. I hope they do something about the center of the console on changing that color as well in the future. Very cool Sony sent you the cover early. It really does look good and look forward to having it soon. Blue is my favorite color.

Funnily enough I want the red to be brighter and more vibrant while the pink is too hot pink for me. I’m between the blue and purple for myself. But my entire computer setup is pink so it’s tough.

dbrand bout to die lol 😆 these look great! Especially the all-black plates. The blue/cyan controller also is fire.

Don’t understand why Sony didn’t make black the default like normal. White is still nice, but black just goes better next to the tv lol
I just received the blue controller a few days ago and love it. I am still waiting on the red case which I should have in a couple days. They look way cool. I am thinking of buying the purple controller and maybe the cover as well. Not that i need them, but the just look cool. I hope they do something about the center of the console on changing that color as well in the future. Very cool Sony sent you the cover early. It really does look good and look forward to having it soon. Blue is my favorite color.
